If anything, this has convinced me that public transit and other public services should be funded entirely with property tax.

RAII is necessary for exceptions. Why the hell would you do that to yourself?

I mean it's kind of a smartass answer, but—don't fail during constructors. Move all possible code that can fail into an initialize method; check explicitly for allocation failure and/or put things on the stack instead of heap

RAII is incredibly attractive, especially if you disable exceptions.

So—this means the value of a landlord is directly proportional to the minimization of their profits. Unfortunately, that's also more than you can expect from humans who know they can charge more and find tenants.

How is D's memory safety without the GC? How does it guarantee you don't use-after-free, de-ref nulls, buffer overflow, etc?

What, exactly, do landlords contribute to society? Their assets ARE their value. Frankly, my landlord could die and the only people who would care would be the banks. All money means is that you convinced someone else to give you money at s

Parametric fonts go back to at least metafont. Pretty sure you can do all the transformations indicated on the page in 'native' metafont.

Harrassment is often entirely one person's word against another. Many of these cases are decided by who the jury believes, if the case even makes it to court—because, remember, most victims don't press charges. Investigations do

Really? Do you have an example? I've never run into this before. Not that it's hard, it's just that other editors haven't done it (that I've seen).

Ehh, I'd say emacs has a minor edge in that tab is a command to indent to the correct level, not to insert characters. I.e., you can also use a single `tab` on an over-indented line to correct indentation. Your point stands, of course.

Who are reuters, forbes, and bloomberg to say? They don't know the market; it's not like rescuing yahoo was actually in any way possible. The site was a finance site, a sports site, and a shitty email server stuck to a link farm.

What exactly do you think this will help with? It's not hard to understand why people use/buy guns. People are just terrible at evaluating risk; not much to it.
