because that d be a several hundreds megabytes json :) Anyway with suggestion in another comment, i moved the root directory into an antivirus-excluded location, which gave me almost a 10 times performance win

you were right. it didn't occur to me that antivirus would scan everything I open. Moved all files into an excluded directory, reading files is now almost 10 times faster. Thanks kind stranger !

what makes me jealous,is not the double performance ,but the fact that he can handle 13000 files in 2 seconds. i am at my ${corporate} job now, and have about 40'000 json files stored locally on the windows laptop. when I need to load

I am using my HP Omen from 2016, which is still my main laptop. I gotit for 600 I think? I also upgraded Ram and SSD. The hinges on the lid broke the plastic case, and i am not replacing the dead battery, but it definitely works

I have found that setting to myself a limited, 30 or 40min window, where i am not allowing myself to do anything else but the task I have to do, is actually a sensible way to trick the brain to work on things. Then i swith context. Like cod

Well. Query builders are composable. You can create a builder with partial query, and reuse in many queries. With sql strings, you either have to copy paste the string, or to define sql functions. It's a trade off!
