I am not using SAFE, but something similar: * Suave * AWS * Fable * React SAFR? It's great, but missing a snazzy acronym.

I think you are missing the biggest advantage of F#: computation expressions. Computation expressions are like do-notation and list comprehensions in one feature. Now that I have tried them, I don't want to go back to a language withou

Please can you sure more about this? > We also make ample use of quotations to do some cool tricks (like predict the future states some type can take, based on current state + available transitions).

I have the 7th gen. It works OK. Trackpad sucks. Resolution is high and Ubuntu does not scale things properly. Fingerprint reader doesn't work. Speakers are incredibly quiet. Suspend / hibernate does not work reliably.

I agree that there is a lot of shilling and resume-driven-development going on, but there has also been genuine progress. I would hate to manage infrastructure without Terraform, for example.

Haskell has fully-featured generics and Go does not. In this sense Haskell is more powerful than Go. However, Go has mutability and (mostly) Haskell does not. In this other sense, Go is more powerful than Haskell.

Writing an F# wrapper for a C# API is considerably less involved than writing an OCaml wrapper for a C API. This is because F# and C# share: * build tools * package management * garbage collector * base types (string, int, etc). The F# type

I also had a good experience with Npgsql.FSharp. I love that it is just an idiomatic F# layer on top of raw SQL. I don't think that ORM is a good fit for functional languages anyway. I believe there is some work with F# analyzers to pr

It seems that most of the problems the OP has could be solved with minimal distruption by switching to F#. The .NET ecosystem is large enough to provide the libraries required, multi-threading already works and the language is very close to

This article completely glosses over the shortcomings of CMake. It follows a fundamentally flawed design and the sooner the C++ community manages to migrate (probably to Bazel?) the better off we will all be.
