I agree completely, this is usually the driving principle when coding, I don't spend a lot of time with premature optimization in terms of making the code run as fast as possible, etc but if I am face with an issue where I realize I haven't

Yeah I found this annoying as I've written some google scrapers, I ended up having to use a library that supports javascript to be able to click the link and then pull the url off the site directly, oh well, a lot of sites do this so its a

I have felt this way myself, currently I live in a city with terrible public transportation where you have to drive everywhere, I drive pretty far to and from work and it just wears on me. I'd like to move somewhere where I don't have to dr

some companies just want an ass in a seat and giving you a remote project doesn't accomplish this.

Agreed. I worked in a remote-ish situation early on where the people were in town but didn't have an office so I worked from home most of the time. I feel I've definitely progressed a lot more now since I started working in an office, but t

I worked for a company like this, honestly I didn't really like it, at least the meeting in cafe's part, personally I find the comforts of an office superior in this regard as a conference room with no distractions and a projector beats sit

Selenium's webdriver is great for this, they have different implementations so you can use it like wget (but more sophisticated) where it doesn't run an actual browser or you can have it run an implementation where it actually runs a browse

Adding extra JSON fields can break code if you have matching entity types, say in Java, for example, and its trying to "cast" those JSON objects to that data type I am fairly certain it will throw an exception if the JSON object has a field

Yeah... the people who can make use of this sort of thing already would probably be able to do the steps of generating the code in the RAD framework so I just don't think there's much room to actually make money on something like this but m

Isn't this what frameworks like rails, grails and spring roo are for? They make creating a basic CRUD app trivial. If you just need a trivial app then use one of these frameworks, anything more is obviously going to require customization on

We need to take back the concept of the government serving the people, they are our employees, we pay taxes that go towards their salaries, last time I checked, my boss has the ability to read emails I send from a company email address.
