I start to think the SQLite is all i need to store data. When there is a chance of non-coordinated writes that I can distribute among servers (or even a range based ID) SQLite is my first idea. With durable storage backups this works amazin

I think the third company (likely Google) is going to make LLMs financially feasible with: - dedicated hardware ( https://cloud.google.com/tpu ) - optimized models ( https://research.google/blog/turboquant

I only migrated projects from React to something more sensible. I am not sure why people like it. Maybe it is good for bigger teams. Astro with OpenProps is what is super simple, fast to develop and maps naturally to the business functional

AWS lost its way. S3, SQS, EC2 and VPC were great innovations and those services were done by a bunch of engineers who wanted to have a reliable elastically scalable system. This was coincidentally cost effective at the same time. What came

I am not sure how many times RIIR helped me, my customers, teams to achieve better outcomes. Energy use matters. Memory safety matters. ML (Meta Language) features are a bliss to C/C++ languages. With the coding agents picking up Rust

And most of the time the statistical aspect of LLMs result in a less creative solution that is more expensive to run and harder to maintain. LLMs at this stage are good at scaffolding, generating the boilerplate you do not want to write and

Thanks for the explanation. I am wondering if it is possible or does it make sense to have a modular linux that does not have these attack surfaces enabled by default. Alpine is my default solution for most Linux use cases (except when I ne

I am going to look at Zig after 1.0 is released. The current state is that you are playing catch up with language if you have any reasonable sized project in Zig. A new release might mean that you need to rewrite significant portion of your

I assume Anthropic just realized that their business model is not profitable and they started to do some crazy stuff to dial down cost on their end without transparency. Customer support is not a priority because it is just cost. The change

We need a truly distributed point-to-point internet asap. Politicians going to do everything to limit free speech and free ideas in the name of protecting children while they already got all the powers to investigate and stop child abuse.

What a series of disasters that are happening at Anthropic nowadays. I am not even sure what is going on with Opus 4.7 I had to switch back to 4.6 and 4.6 was already a downgrade (anecdotal + the github thread with the harness changes). I a

Zed is the only editor I use on a daily basis and VIM. It is fast and renders nicely. I do not need to configure it much, few extra plugins but most of the things are working out of the box.

My take is that k8s the idea is okish the implementation on the other hand not that much. This comes down to that fact that software architecture is not great in general and very few people care about simplicity.

Benchmarking is grossly misleading. Claude’s subscription with Code would not score this high on the benchmarks because how they lobotomized agentic coding.
