This project looks interesting, but the source code looks to be for Visual Studio. Which would limit the DIY option to windows users. They do offer a SaaS option which could run costs even higher.

You can get a free VM from MS to test under IE at https://modern.ie/en-us/virtualization-tools On the mac, they are support VMWare, VirtualBox and Parallells.

I've been using Vagrant/Virtual to run Ubuntu LTS for my Javascript dev env. Does it make sense switch to CoreOS? I generally run it as a headless server. No X-windows or GUI needed.

Angular's data binding is nice and has sold me on using that framework. As fairly point out in the blog post it can slow down the browser with to many DOM updates. This looks like a decent solution to have the DOM update when you want

grunt is the build tool for the Angular.js side of things. It is doing a lot of other html front end stuff to make the SPA. Also grunt has a watch process that see code changes, it will then compile them and have the server get the browser

I would tend to agree that google needs to solve this problem for indexing. They were the source for angular.js and they must realize that stuff they want to index will be buried in one page javascript apps going forward.

I can agree that some of those items seem middle tier. Though the most tools to help with javascript development usually require node to be installed. Even though I won't deploy node to production. Some node modules want to be globally
