This is like $12 a year. I also have a dropbox account, which I hate. I also have various web storage accounts. For sharing silly daft images that have little connection to me, I use my imgz.org account all the time.

Yeah, Italy is surprisingly good in this regard - even their recycling seems well-organised, although I'm still unsure how/why they mix soft plastics in with bottles, etc. I was under the impression that sort of mixing screwed up

Good! I'm not sure when it happened exactly, but Spain went crazy for over-packaging supermarket fresh fruits and vegetables in plastic. When I lived there as a kid, it was basically just thin polyethylene bags. When I went back about

As interesting for me are the myths of great floods across multiple cultures that can trace their history to sea level rises - particularly affecting the Persian Gulf, shifting populations ever northward to ancient Mesopotamia. I find oral

Curiously, there's a link currently on the front page to a very interesting-looking tool that to my mind sits in the vacuum left by Flash's demise. I've long-wondered why there wasn't a flurry of tool creation to fill th

This seems to imply a subtler point in the distinction: "Canberra was reportedly particularly keen on the French bid because of the ability to switch the Barracudas from diesel to nuclear power — technology that was deemed political po

Partly because the cost had inflated drastically, to the point that comparisons with France's own purchase of brand new nuclear subs - for a much lower cost - made the deal look increasingly duff. Apparently this has been a background

Some people like buying milk in pints, food in ounces, lengths of materials in inches and feet; Some people like selling the same. Now they can do so and it's not illegal for them to do so. That's it. I don't care either - it

My father's one piece of advice, having spent a lot of time flying out to take photos of the landscape and penguin colonies and such was - "Whatever you do, never go downwind of a penguin colony". Cute little buggers stink! I

It's been interesting watching the votes go up and down on this one, haha. I figured it wouldn't be popular. Out of grim interest, I just checked how long it takes for Mealworm to mature. Chickens take less time to grow..

If there was a risk of a nuclear war, I'd not be surprised if the UK sent some level of force down there as a 'back up'. Besides that idle thought- there's quite a lot of materiel down there already, so unless the UK wit
