No, at least for the last Officejet I used. The cartridges are just ink tanks, the print heads are separate. I think that's fairly widespread now; e.g., it's also true on my Canon Pixma.

Where did you come up with layer 1 v. layer two mattering at all? If you look at the FCC consent decree[1], e.g., §II "Background", ℙ2—"No person shall willfully or maliciously interfere with or cause interference…". Th

There are. For sound recordings, there is the International Standard Recording Code (ISRC). For the musical work (of which there may be many recordings) there is an International Standard Musical Work Code (ISWC). For an entire album, at l

Indeed. It's hard to avoid noticing that in the "10 worst" table, 8 of them came after the '78 season. I wonder what the L-score histogram looks like with data only through '78; did the '78 event also look lik

Depends. Can an attacker introduce files? If so, he can probably introduce collisions. In most uses of a hash, that's an issue—a performance (DoS) issue if nothing else. If the application was just looking for a longer CRC/Adler32

Indeed, it's difficult to exactly price externalities. There are published estimates of the carbon externality. You do you best; it's far better than the "estimate" we currently use ($0). When comparing, you add in the e
