For ancient archeological sites, burial happens when places get abandoned (typically due to war, or economic reasons, or famine). A lot of land isn't flat, so to build structures you have to level off a piece of land which involves mo

A plugin hybrid can have a smaller range battery (as long as the range meets your daily driving needs). Ideally it would give you at least 60 - 80 mile per day range, not the 20 something miles that a lot of them provide. A full electric o

Ah, yes -- to expand on this. You know how some countries employee a large number of people to engage on social media platforms. They have to put in enough good content to build up their rank, and then use that high ranking to subtly put

A more evil version of this is detecting which news aggregator sent you there, then making that clickbait page look like the source aggregator. I've seen this with the news feed from Chrome on Android, clicking on a store then going b

FYI, it didn't "get disappeared" (as in by a decision made by a moderator), it just attracted a lot of comments. When the number of comments exceeds the points, the score for front page position gets lowered. I notice this

My question is what happens to gas stations as the changeover is underway? They make razor thin margins and rely on selling a lot of gas to turn a profit, which leads me to believe there will start to be fewer gas stations even when only 2

I think that was the main reason for higher interest rates -- it makes the monthly payments higher, which pushes down the total home price. But it only works if there is inventory. And inventory only happens when people are in a "for

If you have DoH (DNS over HTTPS) turned on in Firefox, I think it defaults to Cloudflare as a DNS provider. I can't remember if DoH is on by default with Firefox though.

Are you using Firefox with DoH turned on? That routes your dns (via https) to Cloudflare by default which archive.is doesn't like. Even if your OS has a different DNS server configured.
