I came back home from a 2-week summer camp, at 13 years old, to an IBM PCjr. Was told "We spent a lot of money on this setup, it better not be collecting dust in a few months". From there I learned DOS, Basic, general "admin

I actually see a market for 5G towers to use Starlink as an uplink. Imagine a pre-packaged solution that gives a 5G provider a solar-powered all-in-one box that can be placed at any high point, without the need to run power or data lines t

Isn't that because most of the people that fly multiple times a year aren't the ones paying for the tickets? Instead their company has policies on getting the cheaper flights. And people that fly for a vacation once every few ye

This is because there is the tendency to reduce stress by throwing money at the problem. Car unreliable? Got a raise? Buy a new car that won't break down at random. Now you are stuck in car payments for the next 5 - 7 years. There&

If I recall correctly, there was at one time a Linux boot loader that ran from DOS, which could make use of DOS device drivers. I recall using Yggdrasil Linux which had an option to boot this way, which used the DOS driver for my SCSI card

I really like the idea of openSCAD, in fact I use it exclusively for 3D modeling. My biggest problem with it is the language implementation. Things like: x = 5; cylinder(d = x, h=10); x = 20; Well, this will make a cylind

I also recall that it was actually primarily a GPU chip which had an ARM core originally intended as a driver for the GPU (and not really intended as a primary processor). And they were leftovers from larger volume chip runs.
