Baseband processors already operate independently with its own operating system and often have greater access than the application processor. Simple firmware update is all it takes right now to have it not turn itself off. CIA actively uses

Why do you think you will be able to disable cellular modem in the future? You won’t have that option. Also Apple’s tracing works offline via Bluetooth.

DOS attack means Denial of Service. If you are attacked and your bandwidth costs grow exponentially then how have you protected yourself from a “denial of service” attack? Azure Frontdoor should not advertise itself as “protecting your app

Agree. The omission makes the title sound more sensational than it is. Token-only API authentication is not uncommon.

Availability aside (bluray rips are a thing), most people can’t tell the difference between FullHD and 4K at all, at least in moving pictures[1]. I doubt bitrate will make much difference on top of that, as long as you start from some reaso

That’s a single use case and you can just reverse it and have a ‘remote control’ mode on the portable device. In practice people are now buying Telescreens (not like there’s option tbh) and they have Android or at least Netflix already buil

Miracast is much more straightforward and predictable and with 801.11ad you can even go lossless. Also you can get an HDMI receiver for like $15, because it’s just streaming instead of a full stack. Chromecast will go of the way Google’s ma

To me this (and the other ones) just sound too similar to Raspberry. You shouldn’t choose a name that could sound like a typo of something else. Ryzenberry adds a sylable, so there is no ambiguity and the hard Z makes it sound more powerful

Fractional scaling is stupid. 150% × 4K = 1440p so just buy 1440p screen but 150% on 4K will mean misaligned pixel grid. If you need more real estate and want HiDPI then you need 5K display, not 4K. 5K is 1440p@2. Fractional scaling shoul

I’m using HiDPI on Linux/KDE and haven’t had any issues for a long time. Windows can’t be much worse. I think you need to reevaluate. 1080p might be fine for a phone. There’s nothing ‘sweet’ about blurry text[1] on a lowDPI laptop scre

Maybe unpopular opinion: Most people don’t have any reason to look at maps beyond local area and it doesn’t automatically mean they’re stupid. Middle east is not a continent and if you look at a global map without country lines then you mig

Plenty to choose from that don’t do things like that. E.g. Sony has a page dedicated to AOSP[1] and ASUS recently was sending their new flagship to LineageOS developers[2]. [1] https://developer.sony.com/develop/open-de

I actually wanted to do something similar one time and I figured there’s one way to do it: 1) Get a domain name for the project, e.g. mycoolwiki.tld 2) In the installer/setup provision for the user a random subdomain, e.g. d2c8116f19d0

Firefox is fully open source. Runs locally and even works offline. How is it SaaS exactly? The auto-update mechanism exists almost exclusively for the benefit of Windows users. None of the Linux distros use it.
