Perhaps the youngins are more cognisant that it's all monitored. Knowing your employer can read everything and it _will_ be used against you has a chilling effect and I'm pretty sure that's part of it.

I like protectli boxes. x86, low power, coreboot options, lots of network interfaces. The apus everyone recommends (myself included) are no longer available :(

Linux takes more skill to manage than Windows or macOS, yet we all know Linux. zfs is _the_ one true filesystem, and the last one you need to know. Besides that, to know zfs is to have a deeper understanding of what a filesystem is and does

Not to be deliberately argumentative but still no concrete examples of zfs failures are shown, just hand wavey "I had issues I couldn't google my way out of". I've never heard of a healthy pool not mounting and I've

Problems like? I run zfs on 20gb VMs and a 100tb pool and I’ve never had a problem that wasn’t my own fault. I love root on zfs, you can snapshot your entire OS at a whim. The only other way to get that I know of is btrfs which genuinely do

Further cherry picking. Brisbane's free buses are only the "city loop". The rest of the transit system is fare based. It also has not stood the test of time yet.

It is not remotely a failure. As a vessel for achieving project 2025 goals, the clear purpose of DOGE, it was successful. It's just that the successes it achieved are reprehensible.

dead::beef is just as memorable as 1.1.1.1, and my v6 delegated prefix is just as unmemorable as my public v4. The "easier to remember" argument just sucks hard.

Mad salt. Imagine a fully grown man having a toddler tantrum. "If I can't play/win/get my way, nobody can" type mentality. It's also a method of coercion. Give me mod status or I'll DDOS your server and de

Oh yes, the UK is very keen on Reform. Reform in this case however is the death rattle of a long dead empire.

For anyone asking this question I might suggest Protectli. They've got x86 systems with coreboot. That's about as good as you can get these days for open source-ness without going really obscure or outdated. I've got a VP2440
