This is a good explanation about what partial unification means in terms of Scala. And also a pretty good explanation of what the supposed fix actually does. https://gist.github.com/djspiewak/7a81a395c461fd3a09a6941d4c.

Using SBT with Scala is certainly encouraged, but you can use other build tools. At work we're successfully using gradle without too many problems. The only things that are slightly weird are the not-so-perfect plugins for gradle, but

That is the entire point of this article though. Apple didn't follow Irish laws (where Irish law = EU laws + laws created by the Irish parliament). They followed a deal with the Irish government that was actually against the Irish law.

Did you try the "Self destructing cookies"[1] extension for Firefox? It is close to your "forgets cookies" requirement. IIRC it has per domain settings and allows you to configure the cookies to self destruct after closi

This one is on the web devs more than Mozilla. IMO there is not much that a browser vendor can do, when what a large percentage of developers and users care only about the fancy new features.

I think you misunderstood what the GP is saying. To take your example, given: fun f(a) = a + 3 fun g(b) = 2b Then: val x = f(2) val y = g(3) is equivalent to val y = g(3) val x = f(2) And this is true only because

Maybe, but 'why are you doing it?' is a very relevant question. And imo should be the first question to be asked. Knowing why you're trying to achieve something will allow people to provide alternate ideas instead of fixating

I'm not so sure about that. Almost every time I update IDEA I get an annoying bug. For example, on last major update something broke and dialogs/popups wouldn't display. I couldn't close the editor because of this. When

I think you make a good point about your cousins children. I believe if the EU could survive for another decade or so, it will be in a much better shape. IMO the politics of free movement inside the EU changes the lives and behavior of thos

I believe post you're replying to is in fact correct. In cases when national laws are not compatible with ECHR rulings, the laws are the one to be changed (repealed or adjusted to match the ECHR interpretation).

Yet it is still better than nothing. After the ECHR decision, the citizens should be able to challenge laws that do not respect their rights, and the governments can't hide behind stupid reasons that ignore the ruling of ECHR.

Yeah, it is a little bit different. AFAIK "Tabs from other devices" shows only tabs that are currently open. Send tab to browser is more like "ah this seems cool, I'll read it on my desktop later > send to device >

I you didn't understand what the GP said. You can certainly have a day when it is both sunny and cold, but the checks would look like this: if(isSunny){ putOnGlasses(); } if(isCold) { putOnCoat(); }

@edwinyzh as I understand it, basically you deduct the debt from the profit and pay taxes only for the remaining amount. Wikipedia has a very short article on this [1]. [1]: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax_benefits_of

Think of Windows. You and I both know that not all machines running windows are up-to-date with their security patches. Reverse engineering a patch for a 0-day exploit could give an attacker an idea on how to compromise un-patched machines.

While I agree that up until now most of the developments on nuclear technologies have been funded by the military, it does not mean that a massive push by the public can't force governments to fund new thorium research.
