You mean you hit key "a", and while waiting 50ms for it to appear you tense up? No, I don't find that likely.

Yes, it is plausible for latencies in the range of >100ms, but not for the ones shown in the article.

All these latencies are well below 50ms worst-case. For me, those are perfectly fine for typing. While it is obvious that high latencies have an adverse affect on typing, there certainly is a "good enough" threshold. I find it ver

Title is misleading. Keller was at Tesla for two years, but was head of "Autopilot" for less than a year (he took that part over from Lattner, who was head of software for less than 6 months).

It's often not easy, either. It very much depends on the battery and the used controller. Make sure to always have enough voltage on the controller, since it might shutdown on power loss, leaving you with a battery with '0.0Wh cap

That's what I do as well, but in my experience you need to do some serious reading before buying one. Some people claim you can buy the Txxx models pretty much blindly, but then you might be in for a surprise. The worst offender are th

I agree that the Culture series would be perfect for TV. Banks is incredible with characters and dialogue, so I think the screenplay pretty much writes itself. His world-building is spectacular and would be a field day for any special effec

I'd say Hari Seldon is the incarnation of an idea (the idea of "psychohistory"). We barely get to know him as a character, and since he is dead after 10 pages or so, he is not important for driving the plot forward. I vehemen

True. I'm only speaking of the "old" foundation trilogy, because I'm assuming that's what the series will be based on. I could be wrong, of course.

I don't think that's a good idea. There's not doubt that Asimov was pretty smart and there are a lot of interesting ideas in the Foundation books. However, I don't think that those will translate to the screen very well.

The Kobo Aura One is a bit on the expensive side, but the display is excellent (300dpi), so in the end I think it's worth it, especially if you also care about the waterproofing. I also happen to like the "natural light" very

Wow. What I never really understood is: how did those people finance the gear? OK, in '81 JMJ was already famous, and for the original Oxygene in '76 he probably only had a fraction of the stuff you see in this video, but still: t

Reason I'm asking is: I have an old Centrino laptop as well as an RPi2 and RPi3. The Centrino is so much faster than the RPi's, it's not even in the same league. And as long as the Raspberrys are married to Broadcom, I think
