I’m in my late forties. Just been coding for the past twenty-five years. I stay away from management by turning down management offers. I’m not a rockstar or anything. Just doing the work. There are places that won’t hire me because of my a

Zenni is amazing. At less than $20 a pair, I can buy new every month. Everyone in my family uses Zenni and I get compliments on my glasses all the time.

I’ve been in mobile development for a long time. I do iOS and swift now. I think it’s a good market. There are a number of places that do native development. I have always bet against cross platform mobile solutions. It doesn’t interest me

Activism takes many forms. They’re not mutually exclusive. Your contribution to this discussion (with a throwaway account) is to put boundaries on what activities you deem acceptable. Your cynicism is not insightful or interesting.

Vendor locking is real. Chrome and Google are a threat to the free and open internet. I use Firefox and have no problems with website compatibility. Be the change you want to see.

I’m a big proponent of nuclear energy. The benefits far outweigh the risks. But solar power has never rendered an area of the planet uninhabitable, so I understand the concern.

This is a totally acceptable attitude. It’s your data, you can give it away or sell it or whatever. It’s your choice. It matters to me so I pay attention to news about products and companies with regard to privacy. Privacy, like free speech

Many of Aaple’s privacy and encryption efforts have come in response to the US government’s demand for data. If they don’t have access to data or never stored it, the government can’t seize it. Note that the US government’s response to this

Kissinger architected genocide. Maybe his management technique isn’t what we should learn from him.

I’ll give a non-technical answer: set up a legal trust. This is the typical way a person has their wishes carried out after their death.

Concrete is the most pervasive man made material on the planet. And it likely will be so for centuries. It’s a wonder there aren’t more books on concrete.

Mid forties and I've been programming all my life. If you don't want to be in management, don't take a management position. Same goes for architect or whatever else they throw at you. You will make less money. You may get tir

I don't feel much emotion when viewing art, but I'm a huge art lover. Go to a museum and take a guided tour where they talk about the artists. You should start to feel intellectual curiosity at the very least.
