I have been using TeamViewer for this specific case, helping out (usually older) people with their computer issues. I have struggled with this very same problem, and finally using some short url for downloads. Helps a little bit. But one fu

   > the clunky slowness of the printer I understand what you mean, but e.g. Toshiba TCx thermal receipt printer (6145-1TN) prints 406mm/sec (125 lps at 8lpi). I think that is very very fast.

Yep, Spotty is working for me flawlessly. Funny and nice feature is that I can play different tracks on different squeezeboxes via one Spotify account. Running server on Ubuntu 20.04.

Squeezebox (Logitech Media Server) with material-ui plugin is something which happens to work quite well. Family members are happy as well. Syncs perfectly on multiroom setup, supports Spotify, works with Home Assistant and has at least eno

At least in Europe it is forbidden to sell BPA/BPB thermal rolls. IIRC law came to effect about a year ago.

There was. Project Astoria by Microsoft which was abandoded few years ago. That was rather promising, but IIRC it got to some legal problems. I was in beta (or alpha, do not remember) test group.

That was my solution as well. I have required smoke detectors connected to powerline 1 per 60m2 or so and then have multiple Heiman zigbee detectors, connected to Home Assistant.

As SSCC is managed by GS1 and their standard for SSCC does not include sizes the quote probably is at least inaccurate. You can buy prefix for your own SSCC codes and then you can form your own serial numbers - based on size or whatever par

I currently have about 8 squeezeboxes around the house in three buildings (mostly wifi connected, few receivers, few radios, few touches and one boom). Sync is one of the features which just work perfectly, beat-perfectly. Of course when tu

I have used "walking desk" setup now for about a year. Treadmill is kind of special walking treadmill, speed ranges from 1-5 km/h (0.5km/h steps). I normally walk about 5-6km per day while working. Mostly speed is 1 or 1

Check out Engenius, for example their EWS330AP is nicely priced well-performing locally managed bridge. I have used that for multiple outdoor and indoor wifi bridge needs.

This is partly untrue. PM Marin has proposed this idea as "utopia" in August 2019. When she presented this vision, she was not yet PM. Additionally, she proposed 6 hour work-day OR 4 work-day week, not AND. It is kind of weird tha

I dont know if I understood your need correctly, but I am using Dell D6000 usb-c dock with two displayport-connected monitors. Dock works perfectly, cannot say the same on other Dell docks (TB15 and some other).

And just to add, "utopia" was the wording Marin herself used. Of course she supports the idea but I assume she does not see it as a realism in very near future. Yes, the site made its way to my do-not-trust list as well.

    by dementik 7y ago

No, she or her coalition has not demanded for a test run. That "utopia" was introduced in August (four months before Marin became PM) as a proposal for the future.

Well, you could. I have it on 3D printed case, but have no need for mobility. Of course you would need battery and with small (1000mAh or so) battery it could run at least few days with one charge.
