What we've done for dolphin-emu.org: * In all cases, a fairly visible language picker is displayed at the top of the page, with internationalized language names. * If someone goes to a language-specific subdomain (fr.dolphin-emu.org, c

I already have exceptions for things like that. I think our code handles zh_{CN,TW,HK} separately, as well as things like pt_BR vs. pt. > curl -I -H 'Accept-Language: zh-hk,en;q=0.8' https://dolphin-emu.org/

I just fixed dolphin-emu.org, this was a bug in our code that would not detect en-US as being "compatible" with en. See https://github.com/dolphin-emu/www/commit/ddef974c6f601bc2db... As a French gu

Yeah, we recently moved away from Google Code to GitHub and updating the website hasn't been in my priorities. We moved from a "branches in the main repository" model to a more classic, GitHub style, "everyone has his fo

Fun fact: Dolphin emulates some N64 games better than current PC N64 emulators do. For example, Mario Tennis (N64) is considered very difficult to emulate, but the official Nintendo emulator running in Dolphin has almost no problem with it!

A lot of that is because OS X OpenGL drivers are just not good. If you look at https://developer.apple.com/graphicsimaging/opengl/capabilit... the support is currently stuck at OpenGL 4.1, with virtually no recent

There's some HMAC-SHA1 available but it's hidden in their REST API. I really don't understand why the option is not available via their web interface, especially since it is already supported in their backend.

Single core performance in CPU intensive applications really improved between Nehalem/SNB/IVB/Haswell actually. [1] is a benchmark of the Dolphin Emulator (mostly single threaded performance) on a variety of recent CPUs that

Gmail does use List-Unsubscribe: when you mark as spam a mail which has a valid List-Unsubscribe header, it will ask you if you want to unsubscribe instead, and will handle the unsubscribe request automatically.

If a sender does not let me unsubscribe without logging in, I usually end up (after 3 or 4 times clicking the unsubscribe link, getting frustrated, and deleting the email) adding a filter to automatically mark their emails as spam.

That sounds fairly unlikely (the BIOS does executes some code from PCI devices, but he says this happens on a machine without any weird PCI device, and PCI ROMs can be dumped too). We would not have to discuss whether this is the case if BI

iOS also does not provide APIs to map executable memory, which is required to run our JIT. You could run Dolphin in interpreter mode, but it's incredibly slow even on a high-end Intel CPU.

Hate all you want on Phoronix, but I still don't know any other good "news aggregator" for X11, Linux GPU drivers and optimization news. It's not like everything on Phoronix comes from -announce mailing lists, they do a

This is so wrong on multiple levels. First, self-modifying code is still extremely present on modern consoles, at least on the current generation (PS3/X360/Wii/WiiU). Loading code from external media is basically the same pro

You can't: as long as you have self mutating code (including loading more code in memory from another place), static recompiling is simply not possible. It's not a matter of being "better", it's the only solution. A
