Worth noting that only the first Kindle, released in 2007, used a proprietary charger, and plenty of devices used proprietary chargers at the time. All of them since have had USB charging.

I can't answer that question exhaustively, but they do have a USB drive mode* and airplane mode, if that's something you care about. Though the models with ads (basically all of them) do track impressions of all the ad placements

Interject. When things are getting off topic (which is to say, as soon as one person interrupts another person's update with a question) just say "this might be better for post standup", or even just "post standup?"

What benefit do they see in exchange for the effort in open sourcing things? It's certainly a win for the rest of us, but how does Google benefit to make it a "win-win", and not just a "win"?

It's more like a 9 sheep and a wolf with a great PR firm who convinced 5 sheep to vote against the other 4 for lunch plans. Those 5 sheep aren't going to come out of this any better than the 4 of us.

I think for this discussion, "math is stuff you'd learn in a math department" is a pretty useful definition, even if it's not a very good one. There's a lot of math involved in the design and manufacture of the kett

That setting can be fairly sticky. Mine has stayed off since I initially disabled it, shortly after they added the "feature". I have no idea why it's not sticky for you. Maybe they fuck with me less because I have premium?

I would imagine that's why they had "best practices" in quotes. Lots of enterprisey things get pushed as a "good practice" to improve reuse (of things that will never be reused) or extensibility (of things that will

The context was shoveling a barn, and you can't leave it until it dries out, can you? I don't know how often you have to clean a barn, or how long it takes for the manure to dry, but my naive assumption would be that it takes too

Wait, on a typical day you're drinking 4-5.5 gallons of coffee? 180oz * 3-4? So 540-720oz? That's not just an outlier, that's absurd. At 100mg caffeine per 8oz of coffee, that's over 6 grams of coffee per day, or more
