The real speed problem is using general purpose web server like apache. What you need to do is write your own custom webserver for each site in assembler. That way most, if not all, the site can be served directly from server in ram without

Part of the true cost of these products is their security risk. That cost should ultimately be paid by those who use the product. Otherwise there is no incentive for people to find better, safer chemicals/means to achieve their goals. Passi

This is another problem with apples 'App Store Only' policy. If they weren't the only possible provider of Apps then they could legitimately reject ones they didn't like. The authors would just have to sell it somewhere else. But because th

I believe that free choice actually leads to a better result for consumers. If you don't agree with this position then what you have said makes sense and you are probably a good fit for Mac products. My belief is that over time consumers wi

Actually for me gmail wasn't really that related to Web 2.0. The main definition used is at http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/oreilly/tim/news/2005/09/30/... The exception to 'social != $$$$' is of course Google's page rank algorithm which

For me the term 'Web 2.0' is more closely related to collective intelligence and social media/apps than AJAX or other UI inovations. But hey it's just a term. By the time 'Web 3.0' could actually apply we'll probably have another term to us

I don't think the analogue with movies was a good one. The time investment of several hours involved in going to see a movie is more than the actual money cost for most people. There are many movies that wouldn't be worth seeing if they pai

It isn't just basic speech. It is whatever is required to convince the examiner that the subject is a human. You could ask the subject for some creative input on a particular topic. That is allowed under the Turing test. I think that creati

I was replying to a comment not the parent post. The one where the guy proposed that it would be impossible for humans to create anything smarter than ourselves. Sometimes the indentation on comments can be a little tough to keep up with.

Do you believe in evolution? The process of human evolution is a tale of smarter and smarter animals coming from less intellegent ones. Also Humans can invent chess algorithms that can beat the best chess player in the world.
