Very very good book. It sends you into an initial "NO that's preposterous!" thought but as you read through it becomes obvious the damage the current system has done and the weaponization of it.

It is an instagram knockoff. I think they are avoiding the fediverse mention on purpose in order to get users by just marketing it as an alternative without any special magic. This about page as a landing page is really confusing but the ho

According to this article and comments here I should be getting paid simply for disagreeing with the pro-USA nonsense everywhere. Where do I apply?

Instead of making fun of the commenter and replying as if you're talking to an absolute idiot, maybe comment on the content of what they have said.

McDonald's outsourced the work traditionally done by their staff to the customer. Their staff is forced to wash their hands at common intervals, the general public isn't. Interesting article :)

What about the 19 yo arrested for accessing public URLs on a FOIA site in Nova Scotia? The case was dropped but he was still arrested. Happened earlier this year. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/pol

This might use AI but it's nothing but marketing here. Isn't any sufficiently 'trained' program AI under this definition? If I put enough possible paths in my matching system, I get this. Intellicode is just a minor impr

We have the exact same issue with python. For large projects the dynamic typing is such a hassle. It slows down development. It increases debugging time. It's just a pain for complex systems. I haven't used type hinting yet but it

You mean exactly how existing lie detectors claim to work? They slapped AI on an old concept (that isn't useful and has been proven to be worthless a million times over).

Why are lie detectors legal and why were they ever used for anything? We know they don't work. And we know this one won't work any better, because now they've just put the work of sentiment analysis on "AI" vs. a &q

I do the same thing to auto open tmux and block any new windows from being created. If there is one, it instead opens a new tab when I run my hotkey (ctrl+alt+t). I have shift+arrows to switch between panes, and ctrl+a C to create them.
