It's becoming the same as cable (except on demand). Instead of channel bundles, streaming bundles. The cord cutters have been duped.

Why not just use the IRC gateway? This seems like reinventing the wheel.

Once Uber runs out of money to burn they will be no better than your average taxi, and probably more expensive. As more stories like this come out, it's becoming apparent they will be worse.

DEFCON. I'm sure a lot of people wanted to see him there. What crime did he commit anyway? There was no reason for him to worry at all...

I know that. I read the article. What's the point of your comment other than restating the article premise? You answered none of my questions.

Most animal feed is soy-based. What effect does that have? Also, why would a vegan/vegetarian be against breast milk exactly? And finally: does anyone have any info on the effect of large soy consumption on males? I've been vegeta

Thanks for the information, that's very interesting... Glad that offer was turned down :) I'm not saying the PIA thing is bad, and getting funding is amazing. I just find what PIA is doing weird. As you said you can't really

Try using asciinema. It records your terminal session and works so well. Of course typos and such are still an issue...

Warning: conspiracy below What's with PIA buying out IRC networks and 'donating'/funding so many OSS projects? It's weird. On freenode other VPN services have been banned. What's their goal with krita? PIA does

Sorry for not being specific. As for leftpad I just meant the concept of using libraries when you really don't need to. Not the size.

by deft 9y ago
I'm pretty sure this is part of it. Remember leftpad? For electron based apps they're just bundling all of chrome which explains the size too.

It's worse but it hasn't reached its peak yet. And I'm sure the peak will be even higher than dotcom.... Kind of fun to watch

Good question, I have a bit less experience but am looking for the same thing soon. I have no idea how to find one. Not even sure where to look.

Today I learned you can cheat on homework. So apparently giving up and having the wrong answers (or no answers at all) is what professors would prefer. Cool :)

What's your plan when every site starts banning your addresses? I have to spend 15 minutes to find a new non-blacklisted temp-email service every time I want to use one.

He should come to mastodon. Way nicer place and a better feature set. Not to mention a WAY better UI. Oh, and no ads.

Why do all the comments on this so far seem like paid promotion?

You can probably get it more than once. I got it from googling java docs once. I never am signed in or anything and delete cookies and block 3rd party cookies, so they got me on their one chance that I was signed in and had tons of tabs ope

Yeah this is weird. I think it might be some progressive web app thing? On first load it took about 10 seconds, but every other load was literally instant. chrome://apps and chrome://extensions never changed for me.

Wow, thank you for this! I appreciate it and am going through it now :)

This is nice, but I wish he showed it in mathematical syntax too. I don't understand some of the calculations because I don't know much about Clojure. Or Linear Algebra.

Thanks for the information, hopefully you can move the MQTT to something open in the future :) Digitransit is very interesting, and all of this is great work!

Kik releases interesting features about every 6 months, then promptly abandons them. They had a cool 'webapp' feature with a JS library for people to write browser apps that ran and integrated inside of kik. They dropped that and
