Thank you for bringing this up. I had glossed over this fact. I think a lot of food wastage is also because of regulations around stale food. In my head the solution to solve this at scale is 2 fold 1.To help large food chains/supermar

Am not sure. Pretty much agriculture is eating away vast tracts of forests. Be it in Brazil, India or elsewhere. Now is all agriculture done for food. Not really. Palm oil is an example with a ton of industrial and cosmetic use.

Man, this is a bummer. As much as I hate the concept of Soylent as food, I see it as the only way to scale food production for the growing population, without killing our planet. The other options are still in the labs. Artificial tissues f

Well price trumps everything in every part of the world, for the average person. That said, there are millions of Indians who plunk down exorbitant prices for cars, TVs, Jewellery. However, what I've noticed is that very few Indians va

Valid point. My initial thought was to summarise the email that the sender sends out, tailored to the receiver's context, rather than summarising at the receiver's end. I'm still open to that thought but by and large, based o

Thank you. So what you are saying is that let people push content/send email to some staging area, and you'll pull from there whenever you want. I guess I see it the same way, I see the app as the staging zone, it sends me notific

I agree with most of what is said here. What has personally helped me is to know the limits of patience and to walk out of the scenario as soon as those limits cross. In the quoted instance, I would have never waited for 35 minutes on the c

Cannot allude to this more. Building an audience is the toughest part of any business. Not just SasS or PH. People get swayed by perceived overnight successes and attempt to replicate the same.

Can't echo this more. The Scala Functional programming course on Coursera is another such example. I am yet to finish the assignments, 2 months after enrolling. OTOH, the deep learning course from Udacity was a cakewalk in comparison.

Some of the practical aspects that favour functional programming lies in parallelism, not concurrent programming. Parallelism as in multi threading. It's an order of magnitude easier to write parallel programs in Scala than in Java. I
