I’m pretty sure Rust saves you from ALL data races so long as you stay within the boundaries of safe code. Do you have anything at all to reference otherwise that says only certain data races are detected while others are not? To my knowled

The animation doesn’t mean anything. You should be able to have many animations happening in parallel and their completions should not block keyboard events from being handled...

Hmmm it could be but who knows? Almost there entire eco-system is closed off so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I guess we’re at the mercy of an update so we can get back to calculating things with at least a few order of magnitudes of accuracy...

Ugh, can also confirm this happens on my phone. This feels like more of UI event/timing issue than a logic issue. Also, if this turns out to be a performance based bug that will be pretty frustrating considering Apple is always braggin

Does that matter? Languages are born of other languages all the time. What matters are the many reasons why languages like Go flourish and what makes them impactful.

Try dealing with global mutable state in a multi-threaded scenario. This is when the real fun begins...

My thought exactly, but it's always nice to see people push the status quo on what an "acceptable" use of a language should be.

This exactly, I hear over and over: just use a hashtable...totally misses the point.

Yes, while a set can be derived or mimicked if you have a hashtable for example, I'm specifically referring to all the common set operations you'd typically want to have. Using a map/hashtable as a set is just the tip of the

It's actually sets that are underrated. All languages should come with a reference implementation. Hashtables aka Maps aka Dictionaries aka Associative arrays are just fine.

This is still a good read as it sparks ideas for others. Yes it's expensive but the author went well above typical blog posts and shared the financial costs. It's nothing more than a proof of concept and obviously it could be impr

This is all about trade-offs right? Choose to have a simpler language when it comes to concurrency and multi-threaded programming and the outcome is a harder time troubleshooting at runtime. Or, make the compiler more powerful and annotate

I largely echo the sentiment of using Rust for game development. The world doesn't need another Flappy Bird clone but that's what I wrote because I ended up porting a Go version that was using SDL originally by Francesc Campoy fro
