Personally I like the idea, it doesn’t need to be fully turn based - there would still be some skill involved in using your orders efficiently. Plus, there would be a new emergent gameplay mechanic to manage: not overflowing your order queu

I definitely want a smaller phone but I don't know that I'd call myself a power user given that I use my phone less now than I have in the past 5 years - but it has been a total replacement for things like photography.

I’ve replaced about five or six different WP installs with square space now. Never had a problem with it looking good, and surely don’t miss the increased vulnerability footprint that comes with hosting WP.

When you hire a celebrity programmer like that, what exactly do they end up doing? Do they actually have responsibilities in their role or is it more just to slap the branding on to them while they continue to do their own thing, whatever i

What do you mean exactly? At the end of the day, rails is just a collection of ruby gems. If nix has first class support for ruby and Gemfiles in theory there shouldn't be a ton of problems. I've not used Nix so I legitimately don

Why would anyone who has the talent to "make more happen for less" stay in education considering the abysmal pay?

That's a great point. Do you have any specific recommendations of OSS alternatives that exemplify this?

Not in my experience. Developers develop for chromium, I find many more rendering issues with Firefox's rendering engine than I do Chrome's.

No, they choose Chrome because it doesn't crash and pretty much works everywhere, which has everything to do with the underlying tech.

I wrote something similar after I moved our fleet to SSM because I didn't want yet another CLI app to memorize flags on. It's ruby based and runs in an interactive mode by default. It doesn't cover the whole set of `aws ssm`

It depends on what kind of games you like, but in the past few years ones that I've enjoyed that have great mods are: Rimworld, Slay the Spire, and Factorio. A good way to find games that have mods is to look at the "Steam worksho

Still plenty of games out there to mod for, but you generally have to look for indie titles.

I just launched my most recent side project on Cloudflare pages. It's a pretty great UX. Just plug in your git repo, add your build steps, and it basically takes care of the rest: reversible production deployments - a long with unique

I don't know much about organizations like UXPA-MN. I don't know if I have any good advice beyond the obvious things like Glassdoor. I worked a couple agency jobs early on in my career and while it was a good couple years for care

I don't know that there is anything special about Prime over other reputable bootcamps. It might be easier to get a job in the agency world (since I know Prime has a lot of tie-ins to the industry) - which is fairly infamous for paying

In this case "decentralization" means drastically less overhead in terms of simply taking your dirty clothes to the other room instead of dealing with the hassle of traveling somewhere with it and potentially paying money per load

I'd even add email for that matter. It's not the same as social media addiction but it plays on the same impulses. Turning off email notifications greatly improved my ability to compartmentalize work and personal time.

It does make you wonder what is going to get missed though, doesn't it? Each generation gets to work on a level of abstraction higher than the one before it. I think about that often when I think about all the things I don't under
