What about someone who consults for non-profits and runs one himself?

Mozilla acts like a corporation and not a non-profit. There is no humility or grace in their communication.

An interesting phenomenon. I remember reading similar articles about how, in older cities, the closer you lived to the water the more poor you were, but in newer cities the opposite is true. This rings true for many rust belt cities, and it

Step 1 would be to see if a nonporous wood holds up to the vacuum of space with enough durability. The biggest issue would be reclaiming moisture from the wood as it dried rather than losing it to space. Things like corals or molluscs would

Recruiter relationships aren't marriages. It's speed dating. A good recruiter is organized, honest, accountable, and respectful. Understanding the industry is a plus but not really necessary. Some of the best recruiters I have wor

I quite like it. Meta AI has become a good programming companion.

No grudge, but as I understand it the game loop is still too "make your own fun." Has that part changed yet?

A little over a year ago I was having awful sleep hygiene. From time to time, I still wake up at ~2am and just can't find restfulness again. I picked up a simple smart watch that tracks sleep (one of the Garmins, as they are one of the

The H1B system sucks for everyone but the employer, which is kind of the point. I have watched brilliant young devs have to jump through the OPT hoops in hopes of finally getting an H1B to live out their startup dream. I have also met H1Bs

As a homesteaders, very frightened by this. Many farmers I know gladly feed their poultry raw chicken scraps, eggs, etc. It takes one sick animal to lose dozens.

I spoke with a friend who consults for the DOJ about this. A few of the things he shared: 1. This is a "slow news day" thing. There is so much drone traffic that people never see, mostly from commercial actors, and this phenomenon

The ad revolution is here, but not in the way people think. How many more ads can Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook add? Twitch plays 8 minute ad reels, my Facebook feed is a cesspool, and YouTube would probably be bad if I didn't block al

I couldn't find anywhere a list of languages that this tool supports. What makes this tool better than e.g. cursor?

Probably more than that. Grew up with a wood fireplace, work with a lot of farm equipment, do a lot of stupid things.

We had a home near us in the last decade where the propane tank exploded. I don't know the details, there are a lot of things that go into something like that happening, but one of the things found during the investigation was that, pe

It's easier to make a "ghost drone" than a "ghost gun." Banning will not be feasible for bad actors.

Please don't try and redefine terms like "grifter." It is a very important word, especially in today's political climate.

True. The most popular local bean in my area tastes like battery acid, but there's a roaster about 20 minutes from me who is only ~20% more expensive than Lavazza (my go to large roaster) who produces a variety of good roasts. Not sure

There's different varieties of coffee wanker. 1. There's the technical wanker, who has the best tools and might roast their own beans even, but generally still drinks shite coffee. 2+3. There's the Keurig wankers and the anti

I was being very nitpicky about the ideas shared here before I remembered that BetterSchooling is not a US institution, and so is not talking about US problems. In the US, only the title mostly applies.

We fund both education and healthcare at a much higher rate than the rest of the developed world. Funding is unequivocally not the problem.
