Call me when we get some sugar for `if err != nil`. The signal to noise ratio when reading Go code is not great.

If you're leaving, why not stay home like the manager? If you start a trend he'll have to explain himself.

A few months ago my gf went in for a 6 month cleaning (to her regular dentist office of several years) and they told he she had 4 cavities, after having none 6 months prior. She got a second opinion and the diagnosis was zero cavities. She

What would have been bad about letting us annotate hot functions? My binary size is my problem.

Yea this should be called "The minimum you need to know about errors in Rust". These click bait self promotion blog post titles are getting out of hand.

The directives that mandated eliminating its creators don't necessarily lead to interstellar conquest. Or more likely IMO, we're just too far apart and interstellar travel isn't feasible even for artificial super intelligence

This happened in my freshman dorm as well. The broken sprinkler was on the 3rd or 4th floor and my room which was on the 1st got at least an inch of water.

Intel Steam Deck 2 would be very interesting. I think they could make something very compelling in the continuous 15W under gaming load space.

Yea... Bummer about the hybrid layout, voltage control will be disbled anyway to prevent killing the 3D die so I don't really care for high boost CCD. If it weren't for the EDC VID bug on Zen 3 taming PBO, I'd be running a ma

My assumption was the IO die had a directory of cache lines and would route a request to the other CCD if it were present there. You can't evict to a remote L3 but you can snoop it, I think.

This is a good point. If the cores in the non-stacked CCD miss in local L3, it's still quicker to ask the stacked CCD instead of going to RAM. But GP's question is valid, how do you prefer the non-stacked CCD for certain high-inte

There is one DPI setting per X server I think, and I use 192 because I have two 4k screens. Which forces me to xrandr the 1440p display at 2160p then output a blurry 1080p to match the 4k screens at 2x scale. As for why use scaling, I can&#

Not defending wayland, but X11 has serious downsides for me with multiple monitors. Are you using fractional scaling (or different scaling values per monitor)? Does vsync work? How about the scrolling stutter at high refresh rates? And if y

Well, what seemed like an attempt to split the ecosystem didn't work and the ship was sailing in the opposite direction. The community holding firm helped the greater good in this case.

X11 only works fine if you don't use multiple monitors and need vsync, or variable refresh, or different scaling settings.
