My life is not that hectic and I often travel to other countries, yet I have forgotten my passport once and only once. Part of me thinks that once it happens it's very unlikely to happen again. I still don't use a checklist for tr

I like it! Particularly as someone not that familiar with the geography of The Shire or surrounding areas, having only really read the books, makes me wanna break out a map and see how it lays out. Sure enough: http://lotrproject

I don't have much to add, but very cool! I love new perspectives like this and what they add. They can be useful when considering what new patterns can add for the official maps (or at least one can wish).

This is a nice piece of art. I can't really comment _much_ on how functional it is but I can say people's complaints are usually overblown and many appreciate the refreshed look. This one in particular seems to retain a lot of ori

Anecdotally, this has never happened to me. I briefly mention I'm paying with Apple Pay almost always and if it's not available/doesn't work, they will let you know.

Honestly, I thought I must've misinterpreted the original comments somehow, and maybe I did, but I guess I'm not alone.

I'm not disagreeing with you at all really (not sure I agree completely, either), which is why I see the need to approach cases like this (self-driving software sharing, not the specific theft of IP case at hand) a bit more specially.

This might be unpopular here, but I kind of wish this and other similar systems were more open source, or even just shared between companies. If companies are going to be putting a system out there on the streets anyway, and Tesla's is

The article says that leveraged corporate loans make up about $1.2T. Wikipedia says the subprime mortgage market was around $1.3T in March 2007. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subprime_mortgage_crisis#Subpr...

My org (15 developers or so) uses Node for everything except one project which requires C++, and we swapped to Go for two major project backends. I wouldn’t say we made the move since it was only one team out of 3 or 4 and nobody has attemp

Couldn't agree more. Anybody sitting down to start a _serious_ project should spend some time possibly researching and definitely planning, which would hopefully lead to the right decision here.

These are handy tricks, even in JS at scale, and I'd recommend their usage if you can (big if, business requirements come first for most of us). That said, I don't really buy into the no JS/purism movement for load/execu

When you buy Amazon Fresh, if it contains anything cold, Amazon will include many packs to keep it cold. Our first time was a decently large order and it contained 8 (!) of such packs. They don't have a program to return these things.
