Yep. I live in said district and this could not be any more true. I don't have just one or two anecdotes, but hundreds and I've only lived here for a relatively short amount of time. I drive a red Model S and people attempt to rac

Similarly long-time HN user checking in. I think there's still a great amount of quality here, particularly posted material, but I have seen an uptick in the number of junk comments. I'm including comments that say something but a

Isn't his push block already broken @ 4:19? He was suggesting it got cut because of the the actions shown in the video but it appears to already have been mangled...

I don't understand why that's necessarily such a bad thing. Should we be worried that other countries have more strength in this area than we do? Plenty of other countries are not the top in this category and they seem to get alon

That sounds like a really fascinating course to take, and I'm tempted to apply just to see how I fare. The cost is a bit out of my reach if I'm being honest. I do make very good money but I also spend good on two children, rent in

Thanks for your advice. I'm not stranger to that kind of course of action since people are more understanding when you get a chance to speak to them candidly/truthfully. That said, can speaking to the dept. heads help my admission

Yes, that's true to some extent, though my primary goal is not to open new doors necessarily. It certainly would strengthen my position when applying for certain spots, but really I want to fill in the deep gaps in my knowledge in cert

I really want to go back to finish school. I'm 28 and dropped out at the end of my 3rd year with 97 credits because I had a baby on the way in another country. I've been working as a software engineer ever since. I did try one sem

I agree with you, although I don't know if that was the intention from the outset, it's the unintended outcome nonetheless. Their arbitrary nature + requirement for equal representation creates situations that run contrary to demo

Serious question: How do you enforce the will of the majority at the same time as protecting the interests of the minority? It seems to me that this only really allows the minority to set the agenda in most scenarios and the majority can on

Can the U.S. (or companies/groups/organizations) within use those outside studies to justify things like this? Or is there some requirement that they be conducted here?

I actually agree with you and others pitching Microsoft products as a better replacement for this sort of thing, for sure. I use the iPad Pro because I already had it, having purchased it for a different reason entirely. My only gripe with
