Increasingly yes. I am in that group now. Basically, my hobby development has moved to Raspi machines. I use a 400 as my primary station and various 3 and 4 models to do projects with. One very nice thing is to package everything up with

Yeah, had Moto basically matched the 6502, 8 bit land could have been very different. The 6809 is a lot of fun to program. Beautiful 8 bit machine.

Agreed. And that "hairball" (great term BTW, I love it) involved custom silicon that delivered expensive capabilities. Revising that cost too much. The PC was kind of simple in this way. So were some of the systems. I look at

Thank you. I was here to write what you did and more poorly. LEA is also present on the 68K and has the same uses.

My favorite machines were the Tektronix / Xerox printers. Solid ink, amazing prints. No driver needed. If a person wanted to, they could ftp a postscript file to the printer. The machines took an anon connection. From there, simply

That is a promo, not an apology, or even recognition of a problem. Feels like they had to do something, so they essentially did nothing enough to call it something.

The hacker keyboard does that also. Most standard keyboard functions work as you would expect them to. That said, I am going to go try the unexpected keyboard. I like it. I really like the select cursor motion on the space bar. Makes quic

It totally is. I like meat. In fact, I really like it. No shame in that. The answer is in the fact that I (we) like a lot of other stuff! Maximize that and meat consumption will be reduced.

It does taste good! When cooked, most meats have the necessary fats needed to bring out great flavor. Anyone who has done primitive camping can tell you just how good meat cooked in various ways is!

I did see that and need to comment. That spectrum needs to stay with the HAMs. Fact is when bad things happen, our investment in those people pays off. I say they can rent spectrum from someone. It's not like the people who are doin

That's great stuff!! I had my HAM transmitter connected to those controller ports. Was a great resource, especially in the older machines that had 4 ports.

I thought this was about the VIC badlines inhibiting faster serial comms due to a bug in the serial chip. It's fuzzy, but some things in the C64 are bit banged, and the badlines necessary for video DMA make that difficult at higher sp

It does not work that way. What you don't understand is the energy density multiplied by massive availability is what made the difference. There is chemistry in all of that too. We make so damn many things with fossil fuels it'

That should continue to be a scare. It is likely we are or have peaked. The way I see it, we bootstrapped our existing tech off high energy density oil. If it were gone, we would find it extremely difficult to repeat it all. Now that we hav

You were! People moved data in many ways didn't they? Print it out. I moved some code and data that way. Just type it in again. Some people made cables and toggled lines in the controller ports. Audio. Who knows what else?

There are compromises on all the platforms. SIO is really slick. Any software written to it will work with FujiNET, and basically operate with the network, as it would any other device. From what I understand, the C64 product requires one

There is a version of the FujiNET in progress for your C64 or 128, etc... :) I am getting one for my Apple, and want to get a C128 sometime in the near future. Was all Atari for a long time, and then a while back, I bumped into an Apple &#x

Get a FujiNET for it. I bought one of these. About $60. The FujiNET is amazing. It works via the standard SIO subsystem provided by the Atari system OS ROM. Device independent I/O. D: DISK P: PRINTER ETC... Now has N: for network.

I want the mini LED TV long before 8K. Would be happy with a 1080 HD set. Having come up on CRT, then Plasma, I find I prefer displays that emit light directly to be viewed over those that filter light in some fashion.

I hate one space sentence spacing. I hate it because doing that introduces a parsing ambiguity. There is no simple, clear way to know whether the next letter should be capitalized when one is using single space. Here is an example: (I wrot
