Nope. There are bad condition scenarios that would require far more compensation than filling the position delivers value. "Not worth it" is a very real thing.

No they won't. They will say stuff. And don't get me wrong here -they will say a lot of useful, high value stuff. As they should As will many others. Those of us who believe in the scientific method, peer review, etc... will watc

Sort of. Having run high 3nd X CAD modeling applications on SGI, for example, browser stuff seems clunky and anything really performant seems to load executables locally. That said, yes! Browsers act a lot like X servers do. What I am gett

I have the same machine the author shows in the picture. Agree completely. Also have a really old T60p. Might be close to 15 years old now. It has a bad fan. What I did was put the machine into passive cooling and spin the fan up at boot

Multi-user graphical computing seems to forever sit just outside the more common use case lexicon. Being able to ask another machine to run something and display it where you are is a seriously great feature. These days I have largely given

That is all a matter of public record. Anyone who doesn't want that can file a motion to have it concealed.

Using it as a dev environment for e-paper at the moment. Once I have a Pi setup for a task, it stays that way. That is nice and I do not need speed.

I like to set up the dev environment on the Pi. For a lot of reasons, my primary laptop runs Windows 10. It has a lot going on. Sometimes a setup on the pi is easy. When that is true, I just leave things on the Pi.

If doing that means more well supported, useful and fun computers, that is fine with me. I have few complaints and fins the devices useful, affordable and fun.

I have mixed feelings about that. Personally, I found the mini HDMI ports themselves a downgrade. One is forever looking for adapters. However, having two displays is nice! It boils down to whether someone is using the device like a compu

I was surprised at how much I dislike these things! When I find them, I pretty much avoid that establishment from then on. One would think the brightly colored labels on the products is advertising enough!

None are useless. They are right about that. It is about coverage and opportunity in our lives. The more skills one picks up, the greater the chance any one of them will make a big difference. Here is a crazy example: Paper tape. In the l

They can't really do that in the US at least. Right of first sale doctrine applies.

One could also say the user did high risk travel without securing the device properly too. In any case, Apple can't be blamed here. Apple does not know what really happened. Here is a great example of why Apple takes the position they

Any number of things could have happened. Fact is, he let someone else take control of the machine. Apple really should explain this to people. It is a scenario nobody wants to be in.

All they need do is go into recovery, wipe the machine and setup fresh. I have done exactly that on an M1 Air I purchased, and that the person who sold it to me bought it new.

From Apples point of view, he may not actually be the owner. That's where understanding what one bought into matters. The great security model comes with costs and risks same as anything else does.

People accept it because they believe in the security model. For a lot of those people, the security model just works. Same for their online activities and apps. There are at least these scenarios: They have been helped by the model. Yay

I believe the thing we are looking for is legal infringement. Rights holder would rather not have something happen, but it is allowed to happen anyway, despite technically being infringing.

CRT displays are still being made. These are small for specialized uses. They are still being refurbished too. To me, a good plasma display offers a lot of what people like about the CRT. Phosphorus glowing in tubes are fast and high con

It is often that, so fair on your part too. What I have seen happen is people basically get going on Raspian and start to like it. Myself, I have used UNIX flavors since SGI IRIX and I find Raspian simple, well supported and easy to use. A
