The problem with this is that you are not allowing the user to decide which tier they are in, and you'd probably piss a lot of them off by automatically moving and charging them in the next higher tier. Overage fees are terrible for user re

The movie is amazing, and I highly recommend it. But this is kind of ridiculous.

Buy now at 3m, and you'll save 50c on each track that you'd otherwise purchase on iTunes for 99c! The joys of buying in bulk.

Wow, this is pure genius. Especially love how the shirts are ridiculously expensive and next to the "buy this shirt" button there's a "buy this company" button that actually works.

Ah. The content here is great. I'm not denying that YC is awesome. It just has a sub-par interface. Compared to other sites, it has a terrible UI. It's not very user friendly, and it could be much more so.

Of course not. Craigslist has an amazing masterpiece of an interface and uses no icons/pictures at all.

So apparently Paul can't keep trolling from happening on News.YC afterall. But, as anewaccountname shows, at least the trolls here do it with style. Well played, anewaccountname.

But News.YC prides itself on having both a terrible user interface and a terrible user experience. What kind of site calls a feature "noprocrast" without giving any detailed information about what it does? Only news.yc! --edit I wonder why

I wonder, if you offset the losses of the Playstation 3 group at Sony with the gains of winning the format war, if Sony came out ahead after all. And of course, for anyone who missed it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywWfmRdOmJ0

If you have a good idea that you are committed to, why should the statistics matter? If someone says "gee, I'm 30, i shouldn't apply," that seems pretty weak of them. Although, I think the statistics would be very interesting to read over.

I've heard some people here describe finding a cofounder as analogous to finding a wife. It's not some ho-hum thing you just do; it takes time to build a relationship that can survive a startup.

Of course you can't "have" RescueTime implement a certain feature, but you do have clout at y-funded companies, right? I mean, it's in your best interest to push the funded companies into success by suggesting new/complementary features. Th

Too close for comfort is right-- it's pretty much exactly the same as rescuetime, only with fewer features, a worse interface, and new tools that let you interfere with your browsing (which I suppose is its distinguishing feature). This is

The awesomeness of YC comes from the fame/experience of the founders. Adding people will dilute the awesomeness, thus lowering the overall success of YC companies... presumably.

I think Connected Ventures has the greatest office in NYC, followed by SkinnyCorp in Chicago. Slide is packed like sardines, and Facebook has no style.

I would hardly call Google's interface designers "tasteful." It seems more likely that they knew they were bad designers so they just went with the simplest possible design. Yahoo doesn't get enough credit. They are doing some pretty awesom

Yeah, I was totally dumbstruck by how well this article is written. It's one of those rare NYT gems. It's nice to read something that puts Fischer in a somewhat positive light, considering how much negative press there was around his death.
