This is very interesting -- my son uses cochlear implants, which currently use external batteries and induction to provide power to the internal components. I wonder if there is enough power available to enable fully implantable hearing?

Palo Alto, CA; (or potentially New York, NY). Flipboard [1] is hiring. We have specific openings listed on our jobs page [1], but are always looking for great engineers of all sorts, and can sponsor H1B visas if needed. We're located in dow

Sorry to be a bit confrontational, but can you please substantiate your claim of "Most areas of Silicon Valley are militantly opposed to anything that looks like high-density construction" with data? Are you involved in a local Bay Area gov

As I have come to reply on Flipboard more and more over the last 18+ months, my Google Reader / RSS usage has dropped quite a bit. Flipboard is a great Google Reader and general RSS client, but I find the Twitter streams to be much more val

I've never had that problem, though I do have a memory-foam mattress. Sleep Cycle has always worked exactly as advertised for me.

For a slightly cheaper approach (assuming you already have an iPhone): I have been successfully and pleasantly using "Lose It!" [1] to track all of my food and exercise for about five months now. So far I've lost 20 lbs and 2% body fat. For

I use bottle on top of gevent for two RESTful services, one of which sees peak 100's of requests per second. Bottle is perfect for my use case: basic routing, and a simple management / monitoring UI. I'm quite satisfied.

I will say this about Bertrand -- the guy works all the time. It's become a running joke with my wife... Every single time we go out to dinner & coffee in downtown Palo Alto, we wonder which coffee shop we'll see him in, working away on
