Just ordered one last week - looking forward to it. By now I know that even if it would suck at soldering I could still play Tetris on it, so it's a win in any situation!

Threema. Self funded, no investors. Hosted in Switzerland on own hardware. Focus is on maximizing privacy and not having/storing any customer data. (Disclaimer: I'm an employee/developer.)

There are already "Result" colored and "Future" colored functions right now. Async/await just adds syntactical sugar.

I can recommend Fastmail. No affiliation, just a happy customer. I've used Gmail for several years previously and thought I'd miss it when switching. I didn't.

Just a quick reminder, if everyone here donates just 3-5$, the expenses will be paid in no time :) Krita is a great software, and even though I'm not an artist it's worth supporting.

Actually they use OCaml for the blockchain implementation and their own functional and provable language "Michelson" for smart contracts. Fun fact: Michelson was the guy that disproved aether :)

I also thought about doing a project like that, thanks for the write-up. I somehow can't really believe that it's that hard to measure soil moistures. Are there any industrial plant moisturing robots? What approaches do these use?
