Strong +1 from me. I actually took this course in parallel to the compilers course at my university and the videos by Alex helped immensely.

On CircleCI you can SSH into a running instance. This helps to test/debug configuration changes without coommitting/pushing. My preferred CI experience so far. (I'm not affiliated.) Main downside: Only paid Mac support, no Wi

Theoretically yes, but for that the end user would have to get his private key stolen by someone with undetected server access or someone would have to break the XSalsa20 cipher.

Threema doesn't have forward secrecy on the message encryption layer, but it does on the network transport protocol layer.

Looks really nice, but it's also double the price. For me, the upgrade from the Andonstar A1 (40$) to the ADSM201 (160$) was definitely worth it, optical quality is massively better. But from ADSM201 (160$) to ADSM302 (300$), I'm

Well, the same thing counts for the serial (UART) port. It's incredibly simple, it's a license-free universal I/O port. And in spite of that, it has disappeared from computers and we now have the complex beast called USB inst

For hobbyists that don't use the microscope every day and don't need stereo optics, I can warmly recommend the Andonstar ADSM201 (around 160$ from China). Look on Youtube for reviews, the image quality is great and it can be conne

Keep them anywhere where you control the key, ideally with a seed that you can write down and store safely. If you're a bit paranoid, wallets like Electrum also support multi-sig wallets.

Not 100%. In Threema, a malicious server could replay an old add-this-user message after that user has been removed from the group to re-add it to the group. But it could never add new users (since add messages are encrypted by the admin).

Apps like Threema manage groups entirely on the client. Group messages are sent to every member separately. The server doesn't know what groups you have created, or who's in them. This comes with some usability tradeoffs of course
