It absolutely isn't. I initially bought an M1 with 8GB, and it would constantly crawl to a halt. Unfortunately I was past my return window so had to sell it at a loss to buy another 16GB.

Given that it still has a Touch Bar with this update, I would say it's a supply chain thing yes

When I worked at the BBC I was working on their notifications widget in the top nav bar. This would live above the fold on every BBC site, including News, Weather, iPlayer, Sport, etc. Therefore it had to be extremely small in bundle size,

I was very keen on Ember for a long time, loved the batteries-included nature, generators etc. The closest thing React had was Next.js, and it was (still is) heavily restricted by its router. Although this is now changing. Ember really lost

I am just curious as to what data suggests this is going to be a hugely popular thing. In my mind there are two examples of recent products that were on the same lines... Second Life and 3D TVs. Both were unsuccessful. I'm just not see

I think it's important to note too that he can only really make this big, audacious bet because he is the controlling shareholder. Most other big companies wouldn't be able to get a consensus to agree to something this big a gambl

To add to this, Facebook Events have been (and continue to be) almost exclusively how sports teams and societies organise events in UK universities. I don't think there really is even a viable competitor to this... Meetup charges organ

That's why I said "broadly true". Obviously there will be some that enjoyed it. But I do not think that was the case for the majority.

Facebook itself (the blue app) has 2.9 billion monthly active users. There are 7.7 billion people on the planet. No... they are not 'going down'.

> What people want is an escape from reality. I don't think this is even broadly true. We just locked everyone in their houses for the pandemic and people hated it. They want to get out and do stuff and see the world. Not sit on a c

As others have mentioned this isn't the case, also the browser still has to parse that JavaScript, which for a lower end mobile phone is often significant.

Does your IDE autocomplete the jQuery code though? I'd imagine it wouldn't. But it would for the native code.

I love the look of everything about Render, except its native lack of PHP support. I really don't want to have to use Docker. Do you have any ETA when that will be available?

To be honest I've been on Heroku for a long time, but Render looks extremely appealing. Cheaper and more modern. The only downside is they don't have native support for PHP yet... still waiting on that to switch over.
