You can get a refurbished Epson Home Cinema 1080p projector on eBay for like ~$350 and have a huge screen in your living room. It has a nice immersive effect that reduces the draw to engage in other content.

Again, I think Japan is one of the safest countries in the world. I'm mainly addressing the parent's comments that they've never seen crime in Japan and sometimes the meme in Japan that there's no crime at all.

I've lived in Japan two years and echoing what the other commenter said, there's definitely crime in Japan, moreso in Tokyo, but it's usually more low key and I don't think as widespread (or violent). - A delinquent stud

Sidekiq's a really good library from my experience. I don't use Rails nowadays, but they've had some of the best libraries to work with. ActiveAdmin was another amazing library that saved me on a consulting project.

I agree. After living and traveling abroad, it's easy to see America has an obese-default culture. Most cities and towns have little walking or public transportation. Cheap, high-calorie, nutrient-poor food is easily available anywhere

I agree. I spent some time as a Kaplan tutor. The students in my experience fell into a few buckets: 1. They already know the material/are serious and would do fine without tutoring (maybe some small help here and there) 2. They kind o

I second Rails. It's incredibly polished and has really good gems to speed up dev. ActiveAdmin is a great gem if you need to quickly make an admin dashboard. It was useful when I had a small consultancy. https://activeadmin.
