Same here. The Master and Margarita kind of has a similar feel to infinite jest IMO. I love Borges for the mathematical-esque concepts and explorations, but it feels nothing like DFW.

Not necessarily. There should be discussion on whether we want to allow companies to use content to train models, independent of fair use. I mean can’t platforms just say that you’re waiving your content rights when you post on their platfo

Think of it like any active trading strategy, or day trading, just that you’re automating it. It’s possible, but it’s a lot of work, and it’s very risky.

I think it’s more or less the same idea, quant trading typically refers to people doing quantitative analysis as part of a larger strategy, and algorithmic trading is all about actually executing trades automatically. Definitely significant

For me, it’s more like: if I write on medium, I know my stuff is being put right next to utter shit. I take writing seriously, and it honestly looks bad to be in the platform, because almost everything you see on there is so bad.

Exactly, besides, the question isn’t about legality, it’s about what the law should be, I think. The question isn’t whether it’s legal, the question is whether we need to change the law in response to technology.

Yes, and: why shouldn’t it matter that in one case it is a person and in another it is a computer program? Why would it be incoherent to say “I’m okay with a person reading, synthesizing, and then utilizing this synthesis—but I’m not okay w
