I’m confused as well. Did the author not consider the existing product line? iPads are not that expensive for the base model especially during the holidays.

A LOT of websites are tenants on WHM/CPanel hosts. Not to mention how many agencies use it for their clients Wordpress sites.

Code aside, most people don't even know how to describe what they actually want it to do, and LLMs are still a loooong way away from mind reading. I've seen developers struggle to even write down what they want. Simple demos like

Realistically you should never use the registrars dns to begin with. But you can set your own dns with porkbun, I have customs dns on all of my domains. I especially have been doing that since the Namecheap hsts issue. Can't trust any

I dunno, if I spent even a couple years building something and could sell it for a million relatively quickly I probably would too unless it's something I'm really passionate about. I've sold side projects for waaaay less.

Have you tried to shift through a whole lot of vibe coded slop? It’s really mentally draining to see all of the really bad techniques they fall back on just to brute force a solution.

> Yes, my coding skills probably aren't as sharp as they used to be If not the tool then whose to blame? It’s very clear people that rely on LLMs for coding lose their skills. Just because you have a lot of parallel tasks going at o

Namecheap has had its own host of issues like a few years back breaking hsts and causing tons of sites to break for quite a while and their response was basically oh well. That incident along made me move my domains off to porkbun.

You’d be surprised how many enterprises use them. Also their managed hosting support is surprisingly competent. I’m not a fan of their service but some of our clients use them and anytime their servers have had issues support was quick to f

I agree except for the monitor attached part. There’s so reason my iPad Pro with that expensive keyboard and trackpad can’t run macOS. I had such dreams Of using it as a laptop replacement and all it’s ended up being is a very expensive por

I have been loving my new doctors recording and making everything available in the patient portal. No more trying to remember what they said. That’s huge, especially when dealing with elderly patients and being able to have their caregivers

That doesn’t mean they also can’t be wasteful. Fact is, Claude and gpt have way too much internal thinking about their system prompts than is needed. Every step they mention something around making sure they do xyz and not doing whatever. W

I see that with openai too, lots of responding to itself. Seems like a convenient way for them to churn tokens.

That DOGE info was a very small portion of the data and considering who it came from you have to take even that with a grain of salt. There's always going to be inaccuracies in any dataset, no avoiding that.

Only works if everyone has to do it. Once you slice it into only a certain part of the population, it becomes an unfair class system. Example, rich and well connected people would never do it. If you say only men should do it, that's u

I stopped ordering after I realized most places were using ai photos and descriptions. It’s worse than the stock images they’d use in the old days. It’s actively lying about what an item is.

If I'm reviewing AI code, I don't want AI summaries. I want to be able to read the code and understand what it does. If I can't do that, the code the AI output isn't very good. In theory, your AI changes should be smalle

It’s still a mess and any suggestions to fix it are met with hostility which is a shame because I’d love to use it. Last I checked there were still endpoints not behind auth that exposed stuff you’d probably not want exposed.

Adding to the list: postgres (or any real db) support. I’ve had to repair their SQLite db so many times. It’s so common they have a help guide on it too and folks have made automated scripts to do it for you.

Just dump the man movie + extras with makemkv and copy to my nas. Hardest part is finding a drive with compatible firmware to flash for uhd support (or just buy one preflashed I guess). It’s easy once you get the hang of makemkv.
