I t Looked into the OTC ones and it does seem they’re binned versions. The failure rate appears to be higher too, which is more acceptable in a non life threatening device. It also probably gives the companies really valuable data.

xcancel worked even when nitter had problems before. I imagine they're running a fairly custom version of nitter now with their own workarounds. Edit: I see it's not working either "Instance has been rate limited"

I wish I picked one up last fall when the stores were trying to clear them out. Now you can’t even buy them in person.

Until design tools like figma use these other units, people will be stuck to rems and pixels.

Just tested it, everything but the bright dimmed. That’s very annoying. On an iPhone 14 Pro…

If your setup runs everything in forced hdr you won’t notice. OSes like MacOS will map sdr making everything look dim that’s not hdr.

It’s bad because it dims the entire display. You’re assuming your app is more important than whatever else might be displayed. It can also take a bit for the os to go back to the sdr state. I’ve had a few cases where safari gets stuck in hd

And they’re too dumb to remember who caused the problems and just blame the other team no matter what.

And the cameras Flock are using are no where near that good of quality. The claim was high quality cameras are expensive. Flock is using pretty cheap components. There's been multiple tear-downs showing just how budget built they are.

True but it won’t stop price gouging or as the company uses have been calling it price blending.

That’s probably why they’ve been pushing the MPC app heavily.

Look up guardrail guy's video on their installs. They are not up to code. Even the newer installs that do include breakaways are failing.

They used to handle real data extremely well by using those little search widgets they would recognize what you’re asking and just show weather etc. the AI answers is just such a massive regression.

That’s even assuming flock saves lives, which it doesn’t. Really the question should be, is giving up privacy worth it if it helps law enforcement solve a crime faster? Still don’t think so.

Equivalent quality cameras can be had for 100-200. Not that expensive.

I use most of these but the one that somehow slipped past me was the name attribute for details. That's going to be incredibly useful. I want to go rip out all of the js accordions now.

Was just in vegas and one of them kept spitting out blanks. I have a feeling people swiped their card and didn't realize they needed to keep rotating and assumed it broke. Ended up with a whole collection before getting tired and leavi

There's good technical prose on the site? It's all just fluff marketing that adds nothing.

And you could, should, argue they make it up by charging such a high commission.

What’s dumb is even older tech has gone up. Look at microsd and usb thumb drives. There’s a lot of price gouging just because they can. There’s a real shortage and then there’s just “it’s memory so price go up”

The manufacturers are not doing a whole lot to fix the problem l and I don’t blame them. It’s expensive to build out and they know demand will slow down and don’t want to be stuck with excess capacity. Better to be sold out and high prices.

Same, I loaded a model that should have fit fine in my available memory and macOS progressively got more broken in the weirdest ways, like my AirPods connecting but being unresponsive and not being able to be configured. I think it started

Beenaminute did an experiment about this and found it didn’t really matter. Algospeek would be caught by the same filters people try to avoid anyways.

Mine are really close to needing to be replaced and I’m not looking forward to the 1500+ it’ll cost. I’ve gone further than the est lifespan at least.

Honestly can't wait for that to happen, same with memory, drives, etc. There's going to be a massive amount of server pulls hitting the market.

See that’s the problem. What works for you doesn’t work for others like me that have tried dieting. It’s the food noise that’s the problem and it’s a mental issue. Glp-1 has helped me a lot. The metabolic changes are kind of insane. Even do
