On your last point I’ve found it about a wash in terms of time savings for me. For boiler plate / throw away code it’s decent enough - especially if I don’t care about code quality and only want a result. It’s wasted so much time tryi

You should try out Firefox’s if you haven’t. It’s pretty good now and I haven’t found something that I’ve been like damn wish it was there. Lighthouse testing I guess?

It’s not even just em dashes, it’s the same style posts people make that match with how chatgpt talks with simple prompts.

I worry that as a mastodon server operator I could be found guilty of violating their state law and if one day I decide to visit or transit in the state I could be punished say by arrest. Same goes for other countries as well. It’s insane.

Super easy to setup your own for under 50 bucks. Plus if you feed to the tracking sites many give you pro/business accounts in exchange.

That’s what I’ve heard from basically everyone I know personally. They get the app sign up and just a flood of furry content. Bluesky really needs to figure out a better default curated feed if they’re gonna just recommend content like that

As someone that plays those games pretty heavily: I’d rather not have LLMs take over game AI like that. If I want different gameplay I’d play online. We don’t need to bog down already heavy games with LLMs.

That's not even including HDR and the fake 4k upscales.

The marketing of a resolution really won out. People will fight you if you suggest a high bitrate 1080p encode can look better than a low bitrate 4k.

Commercial 4k Blu-ray’s are twice that all the way up to 4x or sometimes more. And I’d say even on the best mastered disks there’s still obvious encoding artifacts.

People just don't realize just how garbage even 4k streams are from all the services. It's not in their interest to give you real bluray quality.

I used sub mb internet on a cruise and the ping wasn’t even that bad but trying to load anything other than HN was a real pain. 56k was pretty bad even back then, don’t even know how it would be remotely usable today.

That's exactly why I liked being on keto. Never felt hungry, had way more energy, mental health improved a lot. No other diet had those effects. I've been off it for a while and I feel gross again.

The same thing with keto. People will swear it's unhealthy but like, the alternative (outside of Ozempic and co) is being overweight...

It's already bad enough before this came out on the different streaming platforms. People are grifting off known musicians and labeling them as album artists to get their awful ai songs put into mixes.

Charging for content means nothing. Meta was pirating media and training against that and I suspect everyone else is too but hasn’t been caught yet.

I’ve noticed it slowing our developers down and causing some brain rot when they have to work unassisted. It’s frustrating and sad to see.

They really need to to just a limit so you can see how much you've used, not some vague hours per week or whatever. Github copilot will tell you, you have 300 requests with sonnet a month, makes it really easy to know when you're

They also recently must have changed the container, I noticed my adblock wasn't catching it anymore. What I find annoying though is its often slow to load and conveniently the sign in button is right where you'd click

I don’t get this too. Laptops are just as portable but don’t have this limitation (yet). This argument that it’s to protect banking and music apps is silly, those products work fine on pcs while maintaining security.

There is public free weather, for now at least, where do you think the private weather companies source it from? They’re just repackaging it.
