I use Mac daily but a windows desktop for gaming. I tried to switch. There’s still too much incompatible although proton has made huge advances.

On the flipside, GPT4.1 in Agent mode in VSCode is the outright laziest agent out there. You can give it a task to do, it'll tell you vaguely what needs to happen and ask if you want it to do it. Doesn't bother to verify its work,

But you’d have that problem on any system really.

Depends. If you use a cache like they recommend you’d only get parity writes when it runs its mover command. Definitely adds a lot of wear but so far i haven’t had any parity issues with two parity drives protecting 28 drives.

A lot of people consider them gimmicks but the newer gen neck “air conditioners” do actually cool the air and exhaust the hot air so the peltier works. Would love to see it improved for more cooling capacity (and more airflow).

Similarly, AI is really bad at code golf. You’d think it would be great, able to know all the little secrets but nope. It needs verbose code.

I do use them throughout the house and I didn’t have to write a single algorithm because the libraries available handle that for you. What I was meaning was they don’t have any magic sauce. The most I can see them doing is maybe est voc gre

I bet Rest just uses a cheap voc sensor and triggers when a set threshold is hit. I doubt there's any algorithm involved.

His show airs much earlier than the others which is why it’s not really considered the top late night. The rankings I was referring to were the true late night shows. Gutfeld is basically prime time.

It’s currently the number one late night show. It’s not about money. It’s because the president pressured them after Colbert called the network out Tuesday for taking a bribe.

Not always the case. It’ll just go and “fix” the tests to pass instead of fixing the core issue.

By the time you do all of that you might as well just write code by hand.

I hit the limits within an hour with just one request in CC. Not even using opus. It’ll chug away but eventually switch to the nearing limit message. It’s really quite ridiculous and not a good way to upsell to the higher plans without defi

Oh this explains a lot. I kept having random connection issues and when I disabled AdGuard dns (self hosted) it started working so I just assumed it was something with my vm.

I haven’t noticed any slowing, if anything it’s accelerating as people try vibe coding and realize they can build an mvp and get some suckers to sponsor on GitHub. Just look how many end up with donate links. I suspect a large portion of pe

Meta _does_ have some PHP apps. They have a collection of sites running WordPress.

I'm so sick of these vibe coded apps. They all end up having security issues. Definitely wouldn't trust it.

For me its not about keeping my data private so much, more about making it harder for them to just have blanket easy access. I have a passport, precheck, global entry... they know who I am and where I go. But if I can make it just a little

You can. I emailed ARC and they complied with my request. Helps if you're in California and mention your rights. You can also opt out of them sharing your data. Any consequences to this I guess I'll find out later this year when I

I’ve had really good luck with having gpt generate a todo list that’s very, very detailed. Then having Claude use it to check items off. Still far from perfect but since doing that haven’t run into context issues since I can just start a ne

There’s been such a massive increase in LLM generated apps being shared especially on the self hosted subreddit. They get mad when you call them out. It’s incredibly obvious.

I’ve had to do a variation of this many times, not because the server necessarily could only handle one at a time but simply down to rate limits.
