I _think_ http://cushionapp.com might be profitable. The founder has recently started using some freelancers to help with features but as far as I know it's still a one person company. The founder writes about their experie

I imagine this is a recording of the demo which was streamed in real time, as opposed to being rendered (a process which can take significant time per frame for scenes this complex).

I live in Brisbane, and my current internet plan is 'unlimited' (TPG). The biggest problem I have isn't the quota / data caps available, it's the fact I can't get any better than 2mbps upload speed, even if I s

You can use S3 to make hosting your site super simple, and super cheap. I don't understand why people use a database for content that (for the most part) doesn't need one.

Why is there no information about the Inmarsat and Iridium networks that a lot of aircraft already use? ADS-B is fantastic for fast, accurate position data, and apart from the hardware is essentially 'free' for an aircraft to make

Ah, that makes a lot more sense! I quickly skimmed through SproutMark and it seemed great so assumed it was a full time job.

I'm also Australian, but we have a fairly international customer base so the ~150ms difference for requests that hit the application hasn't been that big for us in the scheme of things.

I used to prefer the flexibility and efficiency of having my VPS setup, and it's certainly cheaper. Over the past 2 years though, I've saved so much time and sanity using Heroku. I certainly can understand saving thousands of doll

I've used Tumblr, Wordpress, and Jekyll. My preference is Jekyll, as I find it the easiest to use and can be served very cheaply via S3.

I completely agree with your first point. Being able to actually delete boards would be great, rather than having 5 archived boards. I disagree with your second, but am genuinely interested as to why you might want this. The idea is with Tr

It's completely anecdotal, but we've used eWay for the past 2 years. They've been slightly cheaper than the alternatives and pleasant to deal with for the most part, but any technical interaction has been incredibly painful.

I use OS X for a few reasons: it's the default OS on my laptop of choice, it's easier to setup ruby on OS X than Windows, and I prefer the OS X UI to that of any Linux distro (and to that of Windows 8 and Windows 7 too)
