For some reason I can’t get over the word “juxtaposition”. Whenever I come across the word, it’s a pretty strong signal that a writer/speaker is simply trying too hard. Similar to the abuse of the word “unctuous” by food writers, it’s

> Even just paying multiple times more for reliability in the forms of quality components is a hard sale. Hard to justify 2-4 the cost when a consumer has no idea if it will last 2-4 times as long (or the warranty will be honored).

From my at a glance knowledge of the space, complex CNC setups can have NP path routing problems to go from a model to the actual job. So I wouldn’t be surprised if the tools are underdeveloped. You’re only selling a couple of these machine

Apparently this is a controversial opinion based on the position of the comment, but I feel like it's a painful truth. Spending double digit hours to polish up an insightful or useful article then posting it publicly to the internet fe

> First, it really depends what you're deserializing with. There is a lot of code out there that just does JSON.parse and then starts accessing the data and then you have an "undefined" get passed deep into the call stack

I don’t write many APIs but every JSON schema I’ve created had been automatically generated by openapi tools. Even then I’ve found schemas of very little use, because everything gets validated on deserialization anyways. Client side validat

This seems somewhat cherry picked, and lacking real insight. Sure we can agree on the obvious conclusions that mass production is going to try for mass appeal and thus “saminess”. But my house certainly isn’t white with wood tones. That’s b

Penmanship != Cursive, Cursive may be dead, but for good reason. We don’t need to draw out huge chunks of text quickly anymore. If you don’t need to hand write blisteringly fast, printed letters are imminently more legible/consistent.

I’m left handed as well. I had so much trouble with the penciled, 3 ring binders, and spiral notebooks that were foisted on me. After I switched to pens, loose paper/engineering pads, and manila folders, writing became much more enjoya

This seems like a harmful way of thinking about people and development. There's only a limited amount of time in life to gain experience. A 15yr old's brain is quite literally not fully developed yet, expecting someone to have cho

What’s the point of getting into good shape if we don’t actually have to do physical labor? Why learn arithmetic when we have computers in our pockets? Realizing your full potential as a human will never be a waste of time.
