A simple yet under-utilised technique in javascript. A lot of people don't realise that it's not only the browser (click, load, scroll, etc.) that can trigger events. If you're using this technique a lot then you should probably consider a

If individual vendors mess up when implementing the spec from the standards body (which they are a member of) then they should have to clean up their own mess. IE did eventually change the default in IE6 and added quirks mode for compatibil

Could you not just trigger quirks mode in IE6 and IE7 to get the old box model, or is border-box different to the old microsoft box model?

That's what `box-sizing: border-box` is! You can't just change the default because that would break existing websites and the W3C's box model was adopted by every other browser.

Yep, the best advice for a newcomer is to just use `.on()` and familiarise yourself with that API. You can ignore the other event handler methods because they're all just shortcuts or legacy methods.

I don't know about a lynch mob but for me it clearly reflects poor judgement, lack of integrity, and just plain laziness.

My back of the envelope estimate. These are based on the figures from last year and the fact that they currently have 240 EC2 instances, some are large (guessed 70), more are x-large (guessed 170). 8760 is the number of hours in a year. (87

Population is obviously a factor because the cost of producing/broadcasting television content is not proportional to population. £145 * 60 million people is a lot more money than £265 * 5 million. The BBC also makes a lot of money selling

It might take a bit shimming to get it to work but JQ.mobi supports a lot of the most obvious methods used by Backbone: .bind(), .unbind(), .html(), .ajax(), .append(), .attr(). It doesn't seem to support .delegate() or .data() though, so y

This has been a big information failing from the anti-SOPA side. Reddit have come out and said that it would be too expensive for reddit to remain in operation if SOPA passes, so the site would have to shut down. I see no evidence that it w
