I love that clip. Not because I agree with him about Bush (I don't), but because he doesn't give a fuck that everybody in the room disagrees with him; in fact, I'd say he revels in it. A true badass contrarian.

Generally very good advice. One thing I notice a lot is people using .live() instead of just relying on event delegation. Using .live() can be terribly inefficient as it binds to the root node, use .delegate() or .on() (in jQuery 1.7) inste

It's a DNS propagation issue. Didn't work with my ISP's DNS but worked fine with Google Public DNS.

I don't really see the point, it's basically just a web interface for the `manage.py startproject` command. It also includes the ace text editor but that's pretty easy to get up and running without Django-IDE. If Django-IDE included somethi

I definitely like the idea of keeping the namespace. Sauce.js sounds a bit like a utility library (i.e. underscore.js/Sugar.js) rather than an MVC framework to me though.

Spine uses HEM which allows you to develop your apps using separate files (in JS or CS), it basically uses the CommonJS spec AFAIK. Then when you want to move from development to production it concatenates and minifies all the files for imp

There are WIN32 binaries linked to from the official GIT site. I mainly use mac but I have had to use the windows binaries a few times in the last few months and everything works fine.

Make it an opt-in feature for the moment and maybe make it the default for CS 2.0 or some other milestone.

You're not disabling bookmarklets by preventing people from copy/pasting javascript into their address bar. Bookmarklets still work they just can't be executed directly from the address bar.

That may be true now. I was specifying the reason that they came into existence in the first place (as opposed to debit cards), not why people use them now. My opinion is that the reason credit cards remain so popular now is because of Visa

Credit cards exist because it used to be very difficult to check the balance of an account in realtime during transactions. This is no longer an issue. It's true that some people need to purchase items on credit but the reason that they're

I came across this project yesterday. It's obviously very early days for this particular project but I submitted it to HN because I thought client/server data synchronisation might be an interesting topic for discussion.

This solves the CPU issue but I reckon bandwidth is the real issue. This solution actually increases bandwidth usage and there would need to be a lot more checks than just 3 md5's to prevent abuse.
