I'm not sure I'd extrapolate what "java work" and related "spheres" are like based on one statement by someone who once worked at Oracle. I think if you were to pick, say c++, based on "respect" for

"there's a lot more not-modern-C++ than there is modern C++." I'm not sure where this statement belongs. In a decision about which language is best suited for a project?

I got a refund 2 weeks later. Just file a complaint with Google and say the app sucks. Try it now if you don't believe me.

Read in the way a Facebook messenger message or a hangout message is read; you've got the "channel" open and the message is visible or is above the visible one. Clearly it's impossible to know whether a message has actua

When I last tried installing cygwin it was horrific. The ui was awful, and involved manually clicking loads of boxes via a clunky ui. Next to impossible to reproduce. Has this improved? Can you just double click on InstallCygwin.exe now?

You hate the sense of entitlement that people have when they write software to behave how they want it to behave? Yes, that's shocking.

MSN had big flashing ads. When I first saw that I assumed I was dealing with another windows install with malware on it. I've paid for the OS, why have I got this freemium crap? Slack has no way of letting me know who's read the m

> I know I'm old, but a 5Gig download just to run Edge on OS X? Yeah, old. To scale it back to olden days disk space and bandwidth, it's like downloading a 20 meg file which deflates into a 50 meg file on disk.

Why don't you just use the normal web? The hidden web only has the attribute of being hidden. The battle there is not technological, it's of winning the argument with the general public that you should be allowed freedom and not h

Is there any technical or legal reason why it's not as easy to handle playing video as it is to show an image, from a site developer point of view? Why can't the browser do it natively? Why does it have to be handled via JavaScrip
