As a former employee at Micron, to hell with them. They had decades to build out fabs and didn't. Now we have a supply problem and they drag their feet and cut off consumer RAM entirely by closing Crucial. Apple, who serves consumers,

Airlines treat people like cattle then wonder why people behave like animals. I just did a cross country trip, about 4 hours per hop. I was so sore after that I've basically sworn off traveling that way ever again. You can tell they ke

Seems driven primarily by wanting a BSD licensed option. The OpenBSD folks are very talented but are also very ideologically driven. I'm not sure this will get a lot of attention but it is nice seeing another option.

Recession isn't the driving factor. Many companies will actually increase staffing during recession to "grow" out of it. My former company used to go on merger and acquisition sprees during deep recessions so they would be we

This isn't true. You usually do layoffs when you anticipate financial won't be good in coming quarters. If you wait until they aren't good then you're too late and the damage is done. This is why layoffs happen so freque

I don't disagree but one difference I see is Enterprises pushing hard to use AI where none of them really bothered with Crypto. I see momentum with AI that I haven't seen since the push to Cloud infrastructure 15 or so years ago.

A lot of times its for audit purposes. You have to show a mature documented program etc. Other times it's simply for reference purposes. So if you're talking about current enterprise architecture, the AI itself needs something to

You make a good point but it's also subjective. The documentation we need is all technical in nature so we aren't looking for Shakespeare or Tolkien here. We just need it to be accurate and usable, which it is.

You're not wrong, but we've had a huge shake up internally and all of the people that used to complain about not having it are now in a position to create it and approve it. They just don't care anymore because now its just A

The uncanny valley is happening with enterprise work. My boss is in love with Copilot writing documentation that we've sorely needed for many years. He and I can bang out tons of it in minutes that would have taken months before. We do

Passkeys are just SSH keys in how they work. We've been doing this since the 90's. The only people that use SSH keys are the Linux savvy users and those who are forced to via an enterprise solution for vaulting. The average person
