IIRC there was a study years ago about how traversing virtual 3d environments helped with Alzheimer’s. This would track with that.

You have it backwards. Politicians can be very very good at those things, when they have a reason to be.

Maybe, but I don’t know Dan. Never read anything written by them (besides this) I’d like to read deeply about something interesting, but with so much LLM slop around, I’m much less willing to dive right into a long article.

We all are content consumers. It’s not a problem, just a fact. You consumed my content (my comment) and are now creating your own. What you spend your attention on is much more important now than even 10 years ago.

This subject is interesting to me, sorry for the rant. Writers could try to split up their work to better appeal to an audience that does quick scans, then reads where it matters. This article may be great, but there’s not even any section

> SVG as LLM window to physical world. What? let’s try not to go full forehead into hype. SVGs would be an awfully poor analogy for the physical world…

All good. I reread my comment and it does kind of read in the opposite way I intended.

The comment I was replying to has this quote in it > he went beyond just advocating for concrete specs and explicitly challenged the traditional design-thinking approach, arguing that teams should pick a fully formed idea and run with it

> because the economics of creating sophisticated proof's of concept was beyond the abilities of any one person What? Are you trying to say it’s too expensive for a single worker to make a POC, or that one person can’t make a POC? E

Yeah, that fact is evident if you look at the news… ever… Hunter Biden pardoned, Trump’s convictions not resulting in punishment, high ranking executives getting bonuses for layoffs, etc…

It really is amazing how many companies have no interest in upskilling their workers, nor even any interest in keeping long time experienced workers happy.

Advocating for waterfall? Not every product can be totally designed and spec’d out from the outset. Especially when time to market is important. Maybe this works at the individual feature scale, but at any reasonably large product, designin

I recall a thread from a few years ago where people were saying that zig had better LSO support than Odin and saying that Odin should prioritize that more. I recall gingerBill saying that he’d rather work on the language than adoption. Whic

All ecosystems of popular languages are thriving. Js, Python, Go, php, C, C++, Rust, zig, Odin, etc We’re in a Cambrian explosion of programming languages!

If your goal is viral adoption, I agree, but it sounds like Odin is kind of geared towards the graphics programming world and doesn’t require vitality at this stage.

Odin and Zig both have dictators. Both are very nice people as long as you’re nice yourself, imo. My opinions: Odin’s creator has some strong opinions around not prioritizing LSPs and QoL tools around Odin. Zig’s is a little more hard nosed

Comparing the difference between correct predictions and incorrect predictions, especially with a high accuracy predictive model, could give insight into both how statistical models work and how weather works.

Sure, but with this new predictive model we will have better predictions to work backwards from. OC was saying (I’m going to paraphrase) that this is the death of understanding in meteorology, but it’s not because we can always work backwar
