I just went through doing this in 2019 - 2020 in a more structured way. Prior to that I was haphazardly trying to play out my life since 2014 to limited success. Here is what I did: 1. Buy a notebook. Get a pen and put it to paper. YMMV, bu

Open your wallet and donate. There are organizations already embedded in these movements. They know what they need, they typically don't have the money to get it done. I know it won't satisfy that itch to find an engineering solut

Two people in my office were out sick. One came to sit at my desk to help me out with a DB query after she was done with sick leave. I got sick a few days later. Went to the doctor who said they couldn't give COVID-19 tests since they

Have you ever met a person described as being a narcissist by the DSM-V?

Sorry but no. This will not fix narcissism. Narcissists are broken people incapable of self-reflection and everything centers around them. They see everything in the world as being put here for their enjoyment. They thrive off of attention

I've found meditation to give me perspective on things. It gives your brain a chance to slow down and reflect. The effects of meditation tend to last well beyond the initial mediation session and seep into your day to day interactions.

Yup, same. Was in a 10 year relationship with a narc. Took about 4 years after to figure out what happened. It felt like walking out of a thick fog. Most of the advice in this thread to cure narcissism is completely useless. People are post

People with Narcissistic parents suffer. Their children are just tools to prop them and their ego up. See r/raisedbynarcissists Pushing a narc to have a family is a terrible idea.

If you suspect that you're a narcissist, then you probably aren't one. True narcissists won't even have the thought cross their mind or see it as something to fix. They think they are perfect in every way. To admit to imperfe

It's just as bad in tech. I've been trying to limit my alcohol intake because I just don't care for spending money on it anymore and I overall just don't care for it anymore. The blowback has been surprising. Sly comment

First off it will take you a while to change your wardrobe. Don't rush out to try and fix it by buying all new stuff in a weekend. This never ends well. Think of dressing well more as a journey rather than something you can just change

You use the gray rock method on them. Essentially you do not emotionally engage with them, be as boring as possible so they move on to other targets for narcissistic supply. I was tangled up with a narc for over 18 years and didn't kno

Wow, we're about to see the end of the 1,400M era. The 1,400M era saw me moving to the big city and getting pushed into project management. Hoping the 1,500M era is nothing but good memories of getting my hands dirty again.
