Is this still the case ? Or is this a US only thing ? I cancelled prime without this clause but I'm not in the US.

A small VPS will cost $180 over 3-4 years and will likely have better performance under load. It's a neat idea, but not practical, imho.

I agree. I don't like booking.com's sales tactics but otherwise they're an excellent aggregator. Sort of like Amazon. I don't like that they promote their own branded stuff over competitors but I still use them.

Not really, but then this isn't used for single service apps. It'd be difficult to tail anyway when your app grows beyond a few services.

It's the quarter and year end, remove "Tesla shares tank" from the headline and it'd be true for all car manufacturers. Add "Tesla" and BOOM, instant viral article.

That's not what we wrote. The support team replaced the server after a lot of cajoling. That experience needs to be fixed.

How does everyone think about Kubernetes on-prem ? Where the requirement is to run an application/services hands-off without any platform team to maintain it etc ? Is Kubernetes also the right platform for that sort of environment ?

As much as I hate the slack electron app, I'm not completely sure I have a need for a native Mac app also if its not the official client with full feature parity. Also, I don't want more windows please.

I think enterprise ready here refers more to scale than to features. People try and go the microservices, distributed DBs, hyper scale route way too early rather than focussing on their product, possibly building it as a monolith with simpl

I think a lot of issues that people complain about PostgreSQL come from the fact that the default config is not very good if one wants to run it in production, even for relatively small workloads. Things like process per connection can kick

This is the correct way to do things but, unfortunately, like I wrote in my other comment, this knowledge only comes after one has gone through a few of these "transformational" changes. I've seen this happen a few times and
